I am interested in making it simpler to upgrade an HD in a softmodded machine. I like the way the Xenium OS2 has the hard drive cloning feature that enables two hd's to be cloned. If the xenium software could be installed as an Application, and if config magic could detect the slave HD I think we could make this the easiest way. If either of you, or anyone else, could start me down that road.,

the disk cloning feature is a built in part of the Xenium OS. You would need to contact the site admins at TX to find out about getting source code released to you.
the disk cloning actually only clones the C and E drives. There is a copy partition feature that copies remaining partitions. Xbox HDM can be used to create cloned HDD's. The problem with softmodded boxes is locking/unlocking the HDD.

Every tutorial I have seen to upgrade a softmodded HD invloves a 2nd xbox or a pc. An all inclusive route is what I am looking for. this is not something I need for myself. However, I tend to have more fun installing and setting it up than playing it. I have not heard of or used chimp. What is it? I have it on aid 3.0.

If your Xbox is not a V1.6 then you can use chimp and it is really easy.

Ok, I loaded chimp. Now you boot your softmodded machine with the top off. Once it has booted then swap the dvdrom for your new hd. We do it this way so that the dvdrom will pass the load test. Then load and use chimp to clone the master to the slave. Now once the drive is cloned you lock it with the eeprom from the original drive. Power down, install your new hd as the master, reassemble the rest of the xbox, and your done??????????????????

Yeah chimp 2.4 works like a charm I use it on all my softmod upgrades unless its a v1.6 of course
