Okay,
I finally got around to connecting my soft mod xbox to my tv in the bedroom and I am in LOVE! As far as a media center, my XBMC kicks butt over the XBOX 360 wireless setup I have in the living room. I have Krayzie's NDURE soft mod right now and I'm very happy. I'm still playing with my xbmc, and learning everything it can do, but is there a place where I can find out the potential of my XBMC softmod? Also, I read somewhere that I can't play backed up copies of my games on a soft modded xbox, that I have to have a chip in it, do I have to install a chip in it? I would like to upgrade to a VIP, but don't have a paypal account.
TIA,

Well you can play back ups on a softmodded xbox, and with AID 3.10 you can have a softmod dash installed for xbmc 2.0 a softmod can almost do all the same things a mod chip can do.
Now if you have a stock hdd and you want to put games on it then that may have been what you read, as its to small to hold games on it.
We also accept certified checks and money orders if you can use paypal, you can send it to myself or J8994. _________________

Okay, I installed dvd2xbox and when I went to copy my game, it said that I didn't have enough on my hd e/games to copy it to HD. It showed I had only 4317 mb, and the iso is over 6,000 mb. Is there anything I can safely delete from my HD to make room? Also, I thought that the original xbox hd is 80 gigs? What is is takiing all that room? I really want to try this and see if it works. Can you help me please. I'm willing to a bigger HD, but for now, I just want to see if it works. I built my own pc, so is it really difficult to install a bigger HD?
TIA,

The original hard drive is only 8GBs and there is nothing you can delete to free up enough space for that game. Your best bet would be a hdd upgrade.

The standard xbox has a 8 gig harddrive not 80.
There is nothing you can delete from the hdd, and you cant merge partitions either.
It does work that I can guarantee, but you need a bigger harddrive or you have to find a smaller game. And we do have tutorials for hard drive upgrades as well. _________________

u say that the ISO file is too big but dont press Y at the screen just keep it normal then ftp the game onto ur computer then create an ISO with all the files u FTP'd out of there with CXboxTool. then u can burn it with dvd decrypter. OR if u want to play it from the HDD u can just keep DVD2Xbox in normal mode and copy it to ur HDD and boot it from one of ur dashboards. _________________

So the only way is to upgrade to a bigger HD? I can't use a program on my pc that reads xbox games and then make the iso on my pc and then burn it? What size do you recommend? Also, can I just put a copied game on my xbox HD and play from there, without having to burn it? I know these are probably stupid questions, but I just want to make sure, because it sounds like alot of work to upgrade to a bigger HD.
Thanks,

You need a bigger hdd in order to put and play games on it, how ever you dont need a bigger hdd to rip the games straight to your pc and burn them.
Qwix or Cxbox tool will do the job for that. _________________

If you have any problems with any of those programs just let us know. As for a hard drive you can go with whatever size you wantbut the bigger the better. I went with a 250GB. You can get it here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144309 and you can go with smaller if you want.

So this software can read the xbox game in my dvd drive on my pc and allow me to make a copy on my pc, burn it and then play it on my xbox and it will work?
Thanks,

you have to use that software I mentioned to establish an ftp link with the xbox and rip it directly to your pc.
As your pc dvd drive or OS will not even read the disk. _________________

No you will not be able to put the Xbox disc in your pc but you can hook your xbox up to your pc via crossover cable and rip the game from the xbox drive and create an iso with one of those programs then you just use dvd decrypter to burn a disc with the iso. Make sure you write it at the slowest speed.

Okay, I have that program on my pc, in a folder with other stuff for the xbox. I didn't know that it would allow me to put the xbox game in my xbox dvd player, and use qwix on my pc to rip it to my pc hd? So if I don't want to save the games on my xbox HD, I can just keep making a copy using my ftp connection with the game in the xbox, qwix on my pc and qwix will rip it from my xbox dvd player. wow, that is so cool! I am way more excited about my xbmc setup than I was when I set up my xbox 360 as a media extender.
Thanks you guys, you guys are the best!!!
