hey, i guess i am kinda new to modding, i have softmodded using gamesave exploits before, but not much more than that. Here is what's going on....a friends of mine screwed his xbox up tryin to softmod (prolly cuz he didnt let me do it like i told him) and gave it to me. I want to put my spare 20 Gig HD into the screwed xbox.....im using another friends chipped xbox to access the 20 Gig via FTP, i have tried the AID and when i put the HDD into the screwed xbox it wouldnt boot. I have also come across several dashboards via xbins and FTP'd those to the C drive of the HD. everything was formatted correctly so i have the drives C,E,F,X,Y, and Z. but nothing i do to this HD will let me boot it in the screwed xbox....i also cant do anything with the HD that came in his xbox.....once again, i take pride in being able to find most things out for myself, but im having a lot of trouble with this. please help thanks

i have tried many different things....right now i am getting 16, and with other attempts i have gotten errors, 5 and 6, 13 16 and 21

ps....i have also gotten my 20 Gig to the point where it will boot with no boot disc in my friends chipped xbox, but then i slap the HD in the screwed one and i get error 16.....oddly enough i copied all files on the chipped box and put them on my HD, thats when i would get the cannont lock and unlock codes from the xbox (error codes 5 and 6)

try fixing the stock hdd before attempting an upgrade. Get AID 3.10 stick the stock xbox hdd back in the xbox with the mod chip and refomat the harddrive, there are instructions that come with aid on how to set up a softmod xbox with a mod chip. It applies to hdd upgrades as well. _________________

lol would love to guys, but cant afford right now, im jobless...and not to offend or anything but i dont mind a lot of research so i find most things i need without havin to pay....and i cant find any tuts in AID on how to softmod with a chipped xbox, i have actually read thru it before a while back so i know it exists i just cant remember where i found it....i even believe i might have tried it.....i also would rather not try to fix the original HD cuz even if i did i couldnt do much with so little space.....

not sure what page 38/50 means, but i read the tut in you sig greven ( i assume thats the point of your post ) and it doesnt really help me, i have 1 chipped xbox and then basically a ruined no good xbox that i would like to somehow salvage and install a new HDD in....any help here would be hot guys.
