i have been trying to softmod my xbox for about 2 days strait now and for some reason i cant. I have the 007 auf, mech, and the splinter cell. i have the usb stick and the female to hook up to the xbox and i also have the crossover cable. I tried going to the tutorials but they dont help either. i donwload the itools to my usb and my xbox tells me that the info cannot be read. can someone just make this a bit more simple for me becasue im tired of sitting here for 2 days 12 hours a day trying to findout what im doing wrong or something else that can help me...thank.

I already used 2. i forgot the name brand of the otehr one but i have a 1gb from sandisk. when i turn on the xbox and go to memory it tells me something like data cannot be read and the data will be eraised but it does recognize that the usb is in.

My 1GB sandisk didn't work either(cruzer mini). I had to buy a 256mb cruzer to get one to work.

ok so now i got the xbox to run on evolution x after i had to convert the usb stick to a memory card with action replay. now the probelm is that my xbox and my pc will not connect with the cross over cable. i put the right ip adress that appears on the top of the xbox screen. i also tired to go into star. run. and also put in the " command ". i checked my pc and the ip adress is 0.0.0.0
and the subnet mask is the same. i tried chaning it on the xbox but it still did not work so can some one help me and tell me how i can get the pc working with the xbox.

On your pc open your control panel go to network and internet connections and then scroll down and click on network conections then right click on local area conection then on that page there is a scroll menu scroll down and double click on internet protocol. Select use the following IP address and on the top line enter 192.168.1.102 then click on the 2nd line and it should fill in. Select ok and exit all that. Nowchange your Xbox IP to 192.168.1.103 reboot the Xbox and it should work.

their is no internet connection when i click on network a box comes up and it has 3 options. configuration, identification and acess control. i did find a folder that says dial up network and inside it says make new connection but i dont know anything beyond that.

ok i went to internet options. then i went to connection. there is an option that says local are network (lan) settings and clicked on LAN settings. then another box comes up and on the top it says local area lan network (LAN) settings. then it says automatic configurarions.... automatic configuration may override manual settings. To ensure the use of manual settings, disable automatic configuration.
then there is a box were i can check = automaticcally detect settings. then ther is another box i can check = use automatic configuration script. then on the bottom of that their is a space were it says adress and its blank so i can fill it in. then it seporates to another half were it says proxy server. it has a box i can check = use a proxy server for the LAN ( these settings will not apply to the dial- up or vpn connection) then after that it also says address then port then advance. then it has a box i can chack = bypass proxy sever fot local addresses and then i can either click ok or cancel... was this what you were telling me to find and if so i did try to put the info in the addresses on the top one i put 192.168.1.1002 and on the bottom were it says proxy server and then adress i put 192.168.0.3 and on port i put 21. i tried this and it did not work so did i do something wrong or do i need to do something else.
