We'll need a little more information to discern what you are doing wrong. FlashFXP is a great app to use for FTP'ing to your Xbox. Are you certain you are connecting? Do you actually see your Xbox file structure and then the connection terminates?
What are your settings? Are you using the IP range that you found in the tutorial, or are you using an IP address that is in the same range as your PC? _________________ Xbox 1.4

i am using my xbox ip as 198.168.0.3 and my comuter at 198.168.0.2
it says down the bottom of the flashFXP screen "connected to xbox" but i do not see the file structure, instead my mouse turns into the loading sign when i roll over the xbox side of the file transfer, am i doing something wrong?
my dashboard is the Avaluanch Xmas V0.49.3 if that helps at all
i am VERY new with modding my xbox, although it has been modded for about 3 years, i didn't personaly do it, and i have never done something like this before _________________ I have NO idea on what i'm doing...

How are you connecting to your xbox? Are you connecting direct PC to xbox, or via a router? If you are connecting directly, you will need to use a crossover cable, and if you are using a router, you will need patch (straight-thru) cables.
Also, are you using static or dynamic (DHCP) IP address assignment? _________________

OK, if your using a router and straigh thru cables, DHCP is what you want.
Now, when you boot avalaunch, does it display an IP address in the lower left corner of the main menu? If so, this is the address you should use in FlashFXP. _________________

Yep, the IP that avalaunch displays is the one you wanna use in FlashFXP, with the username and password xbox.
Let us know how you go _________________

when i use that IP (198.162.1.4) and i change my computers IP to 198.162.1.3 and then try and connect, it says connection failed (no route to host)
i'm never going to get this right _________________ I have NO idea on what i'm doing...

OK, you need to have your PC network card set to DHCP as well (or obtain an IP address automatically) like this...
