I modded my xbox about a year ago with a solder-free spyder chip (2.2 i think), and the copper wires ended up breaking off, so I threw it away. I had it working with a 250GB HDD. When the chip broke, I threw it away and put the stock HDD back in. I kept the big (250) drive in a safe place, and now I just bought a Xecuter 2.6CE chip and flashed it with the EvoX M8 bios. I stuck the 250GB drive back in and got it so that its just like it was before, but now when I try to launch anything on the dashboard, it changes to the loading screen, then locks up. It still lists my games and everything, but nothing runs. Any help is appreciated.

Xbox is 1.6
250 GB HDD
Xecuter 2.6CE
Currently EvoX M8 bios

Im so far ahead of you LOL

Well it can be a number of things causing that, try clearing the caches out and see if that helps, or the harddrive could be going corrupt.

what do you mean by 'clear the caches'? Also, this harddrive has less than five hours on it. Any other ideas?

5 hours?

To clear your cache try deleting E:\CACHE and all the files in X:,Y: and Z:

I cant delete the cache (although this approach does make sense) because I cant start the xbox file explorer or any other app.

How are you able to see the games if it locks up? Can you FTP into it and wipe the files that way?

EvoX lists the games under the 'Play Games loaded on HDD' submenu. Ftping sounds good, but do I have to be running any software besides the EvoX dash? (It wont run *any* apps) Also, do you know of any good ftp guides for the xbox out there? I will google it, but a link would help too.
