Hi all,

I'm new to the XBox mod scene. I just softmodded my xbox version 1.00 and succesfully installed a new HD in it (thanks to Chimp 2.4 Smile ). I want to ftp some files on to my new HD and I can most of the time (BTW turning of firewalls for transfering is a great thing that I learned after reading a lot here) however some of my files have "xxx, xxx" were xxx can be anything. The comma seems to be unliked in the ftping world so I'm wondering if there's any easy solution here that I'm overlooking. Thanks in advance for any help.

~Judd

The xbox file system doesn't like certain characters, or certain file name lengths.

There is a program available in the xbox-hq essentials pack called xbrenamex that will fix file names in batches for you, very helpful

Thank you very much, I had a feeling that something like this would be the answer and I just want to say that I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question. You have just made my night, now I guess I can get some sleep before work Razz

I think the limit of characters is 42 so anything longer than that wont transfer
