Succesfully softmodded my xbox using sid 3.1 Final, but don't feel confident about upgrading the hard drive. Checked the tutorials in the softmod section and can't help but wonder if there is an easier way. Had to buy the action replay to complete the softmod because I couldnt figure out the FTP part. Also, I no longer have access to modded Xbox. Please help.

The typical easy way is using a chipped xbox to do the modding. Upgrading the softmodded xbox can be easy sometimes, its just trying to find a locking harddrive is usually the hard part mostly. _________________
all you need is
New Hard Drive
Basic Knowlege of Computers / Xbox's
Being Comfortable with opening your computer and taking hard drives out
Being Comfortable with changing bios settitngs in your computer
Cd burner + blank cd
basic ftp skills
Being Comfortable with opening your xbox and taking hard drive out
Torx 20, Torx 10 (xbox)
Philips Screwdriver (pc)
overall for me it was easy and well worth the time

Ill also remind everyone here that tut is out of date for the SID 4.0 and SID 4.5 Nknave, as there is a few more extra steps that need to be followed. _________________

if your changing your hard drive just use chimp 2.4

Download page for chimp 2.4 says to check "How to upgrade a softmod HD without the use of a chip, or computer" tutorial, but it isn't listed in the tutorials, how can I find it?

I did try to check aid manual on aid site, but aid site must be down. Anybody know what's up with aid site or how i can get some instructions for chimp because google searches just send me to xbox-hq

That's ok if you don't have a 1.6 Xbox it don't work with the 1.6 _________________
