I followed all the instructions as guieded.. Unfortunatley i had a black out in my home....i was up to this point here...
'Install Exploit 1 (Already Partitioned HD)
We are only concerned with Option 2 {Rebuild C Partition} ***(WARNING, this will delete everything on the C partition, Make sure you backup or C)***
This formats the C, and then copies the contents of CDROM\C into PriMas\C, (when prompted type yes )and then drop you back to the menu'
I missed this step wich is the last step of the tutorial due to black out in my place
'Exit the menu, and fire up xbrowser, on the left side point to CDROM\E\ROOT in the right side point to PriMas\E, then F5 to copy the ROOT folder.
F10 to exit. (proceed to Resume section.)'
So i tried redoing the hotswap method but it keeps giving me error 6. My Hd is screwed? From the guide it shows how backup was done. Only problem is the xbox /C has been formated and the backups are stored in Orig_backup of E in xbox HD and i cant acess none of them at the moment or ever ?=/
I even tried changin the IDE cables on the xbox to no sucess.
From wat i understand in error 11, 12, 13, 16, & error 21, the xbox is unlocked correct? And automatic lock is done when power is off or disconected. since the Eprom is the one controling the lock of the HD i was thinking that creating the new Drive C partition wouldnt cause it to be unlockable? or would it?
Any help would be great guys.. Cheers!~

Ouch a black out, well service error 05 means your HDD is unlocked and
Service Error 06:
means cannot unlock Harddisk. This means that the key you put in (when you locked it) was invalid.
Your looking at having to get a modchip now, or make an eeprom reader and get the eeprom from the motherboard and make a new harddrive, of course you have to get a new harddrive since the other one is locked forever. _________________

Hmmm.. i dont think i used any key...ii do not know the key because i had just copied the original drive C to E\orig_backup in xbox HD so i have not manage to telnet there to get backup and the HD key. now i keep getting error 6 . I guess Hd was locked back again coz of power failure i suppose. But since i had created the new C partition as stated by the tutorial, maybe it locked my hd wid wrong key? i really am confused

can u recomend the chip i use?
Actually my xbox is chipped with a mod chip. However it has ceased to work a couple months ago. That being the reason why i tried out soft mod.
When i change the chip...i no longer need to worry about the locked HD or eprom code or etc?

try an xenium, and with the chip there no need to worry about locking the harddrive anymore. With a chip the possiblitys are endless. _________________

The main reason you're getting those errors, it sounds like your chip isn't flashed, bro. I'm not too familiar with Aladdins, but hopefully (if it has more than one bank) bank two is fashed with FlashBios 3.03, which means you boot up with Bank 2, then flash via the network, or even through a CD.
If it's not flashed at all, you're going to need to get an Aladdin Programmer, this will allow you hook the chip to your computer and flash it with the BIOS of your choice. I highly reccomend the XecuterBios 5035. It's a VERY stable bios and it allows for some very cool customizations.
And no, you cannot flash from AID or Slayers (throw away your SLayer's CD anyway, it's old and it's junk) because you do not have a hacked bios running. So look around for some Aladdin Flash tutorials, see if you can't flash it without a programmer. I will also look around for ya, try to make things easier, ok? _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

thanks guys for ur support...the alladin chip that im using is the old one from before.(chipped when bought xbox) the soldering was loose i guess. it started working again on my xbox after some wiggling and the 'evoX' comes out at the top left. Originally i just have a mod chip and Ms dash when i got the xbox(heh not much fun) so thats why i tried hot swap plus the chip was momentarally spoilt
Maybe i should just run xboxhdm and rebuild a new hd from scratch option with a new 80gig hd i have laying around? (as shown in manual tittled 'Hotswap tuotrial - recover Hdd without Eeprom backup' and instead of putting Ms dash i could put evox etc?
Only thing i dont understand is..is it possible without eeprom? then after rebuild the new HD can i somehow get the Eeprom of my xbox so i can unlock my old HD?
Cheers.
oh yea mines an aladdin xt chip if that helps too

no need for an eeprom if you got a chip bro, and you dont nessarly need xboxhdm to make a new hd, you could use aid, but depending on the chips bios it may be differnt. _________________

hehe not sure to be happy or worried well...the AID cd wont boot..im 90% i did it rite(cant say 100% if not i wont be writing all this hehe) i think it may just be the CDrw i used.
Another scary thought is that ive once poped in an audio CD and the xbox wont read it (with chip enabled) but maybe it was the CD type problem or someting i cant remember.
