just got an x-box from a friend. Had X2.6 with Xapter (v1.6 mobo & xapter)
When powered on console lashes : green - off - green - off - red (flashing)
Tried it with my X2.6 chip (working in my box) and it does exactly the same.
Can anyone help, any ideas would be great!!!!!

tried unistalling and re-installing, checked that chip is seated tightly, all wires are seated in holes properly and still same problem.
When powered up with chip off, screen boots to error 05 screen.
I'm prob looking right at the problem but can't see it. Any help ?????

Error 5, HDD unlocked.
As for the chip, is the thing flashed? If not, you'll need to pick up a programmer and get a hacked bios onto bank 1 or 2. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

sorry. Sorted it. The damn chip had been flashed with the wrong bios. Cleared it all off and re-flashed.
I knew it would be staring me right in the face.
Thanks for all your help guys.

Had a feeling it was your bios, lol. My X2.6CE did that to me the first time I installed it... I freaked because I thought it was a solder job... For future reference, hop onto my FTP server (if you're a VIP) and right as you log in, there's a .jpeg in the root. download and hang onto that sucker. It'll save you if you soldered your chip in and something goes wrong later. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
