Has anyone had luck with the torrents listed here? I tried a few a while back (from another source) and ended up getting a letter from Comcast saying I had an illegal file. Plus, is it worth it? Is the dl fast or slow. Last time I tried the game was going to take 53 days.
If it will take that long I'll just rent is to see if I like it. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

hey Cheez_puf,
If you have a ADSL/Broadband connection then Bit Torrents are the way to go mate.. How it works is this:
Heaps of guys share the same file al around the world using the Bit Torrent appilcation. Your computer then connects to all these different computers and starts downloading a seperate segment from each user..
This increases download speed enormously because you are getting say 6kn per sec of every user when you have a good connection..
The trick is to start the Bit Torrent download when you not using your computer so you can get the max bandwidth. When i start my downloads it say 5 days to finish but then when i wake up in the morning a 1g file is sitting on my PC.
anyway, thought id just let ya know i love it..
If ya get a chance please add any bittorrents to the VIP Bittorrent section mate..

Hey Cheez, that letter from comcast sounds scary! That's who I have for service.
It really irks me that they are tracking what files you have.
What did the letter say?

Hi cheez_puf,
I bet you were sharing movies or music
I got a letter from my ISP that they had been contacted by the Movie Copyright infringement Group.. They even supplied a direct link to the files i was sharing on my pc and the filesizes etc and told me to remove it.
They asked me to remove only one file from my share or they would commence legal action.. It was Just Married (the movie)..
I was scared shitless of DC for quite a while after that.
There are programs out there that block the IP addresses of companies that will prosecute you for having illegal files on your computer, such as the RIAA. People have figured out thousands of IP addresses and they all contribute to the list that is blocked. I have had blocked attempts from Pixar and Microsoft.. there are stories from others about the RIAA and such.
PeerGuardian is what I use.. Check it out, you never know when it can help

thanks for the info redjello,
Maybe you have some links?? ANy other info would be great!
Very interesting reading..
www.methlabs.org is where all the information is... While their actual page is out of date a bit, the forums are still very active, and they are upgrading peer guardian to cover udp protocols too. All the information you want is on that page.

My letter said much the same as forahobby's.
They named the file, and that someone contacted them about an illegal file, etc. I called and told them it had been deleted over a week ago and they said, 'ok, that's fine' and hung up. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

One more thing. I'm checking out Metal Slug 3 and the torrent says it has 5 parts, but all parts contain the same thing. What's the deal. I uploaded 'part 1' to my xbox and it seems to play just fine.
Any info would be great. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

Ive been searching for a few hours with no luck. Can someone shed some light my way? Thanks much. ttyl. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

Ok, in addition to that question I have another. Now I just finished downloading Madden 2005 from the bittorrent section by using Azureus and went ahead and then FTPed over to the Xbox right? Well it isnt even showing up on the HDD. So my thought is I need to do do something to the file b4 FTPing it over right? Like zip it or something along those lines. Thanks for any help fellas. ttyl.
PS I may not respond for a good while or even a few days due to the fact we may lose power...or even our house because of this latest Hurricane, Frances, which looks to come in at about 150-170 miles an hour(its what the weather guy said) and I am right under the projected path...yipeeee! lol. Anyways wish me luck guys. ttyl. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

Read your VIP Ticket.. I have left you full instructions on the procedure how to unzip, extract the XISO (.iso), and copy the files to your xbox..

I think Im just totally ignorant in this field ya know? I mean when I had problems with my Xbox did you know what I did wrong? lol.....I reformatted like I should but then I was installing the EvoX dash into the F folder instead of the C.... omg the stupidity lol. I got that all squared away, but have been having software issues....which I'll tackle with the assitance of realmccloy when this damned hurricane gets through with me. By that way, thanks realmccloy for helping man, its greatly appreciated. And thanks for the insight forahobby. When I get my PC back up Im going over board on these torrents and will be uploading them to the site, realmccloy said he would set me straight on that also so I should definately be contributing to the site soon. ttyl guys. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :
