Hey guys.

As some of you might know already, my original xbox I've had for about 3 years now is dead. I bought another xbox the other day (v1.1), and I want to be able to put in my old HDD (which is locked + softmodded already) into my new xbox.

I have a backup of the Eeprom from my old box, plus a backup of the eeprom for the new one I got.

What I'm thinking should be done is grab either the DVD or HDD info from one eeprom and put it in another, but I'm not sure on which one I should alter. I'm thinking that I should grab the HDD info from my old eeprom and use that in my new one, that way I keep my new serial, xblive key etc.

Can anyone experienced with eeproms help me out with this?

What I want to do is get my old HDD working, so between the two eeproms I have, I want to make one that will work on my new box with my old HDD.

Well if I've got this right, you should be able to create a fresh eeprom using the new xbox eeprom, with the old xbox HDD serial/lock key etc. and update the new xbox, with the new eeprom, using ConfigMagic.

Are they the same version xbox? If so, you should just be able to update the new xbox with the old eeprom, and drop in your old HDD into the new xbox.

Just to throw a few ideas around anyway Wink

Old xbox was a 1.2 (possibly a 1.1), new one is a definate 1.1.

I spoke to Pirrup about this today, and this is what we come up with.

* Loaded the new eeprom
* Copied the Serial Key, Online Key, and Unique HDD Key from old eeprom.

This should work as the vital info for the new xbox is now in the eeprom.

Gonna transplant the drive tomorrow...

I cant unlock the old hdd at the moment until I get a chip to install on this new box, so I need to load a modified version of my old eeprom on there so it can be used.

I spoke with Pirrup again and found out I actually have to change my NEW eeprom, and put it my old serial number, online key, and unique hdd key.

The 120gb HDD was built with my old Xbox (its the HDD that is currently in it, my old 8gb stock HDD is still floating aruond somewhere too).

Anyways, just about to start the task, so I'll let you guys know how it goes.
