Use aid and choose format then prepare F drive. Then you can put anything on there. _________________ Moddingbandit

Now what!! Well from a personal point of view i'd say leave it alone in terms of modding & enjoy it. Dont (like me) start thinking, Hmmm what would happen if... And, Ohhh i wonder what this does. Trust me it aint worth it, as most of time mines broke. _________________

Naw, ask "hmm, wonder what this does" is a great, great thing. You learn so much doing it.
The key thing is: Backup anything you want to keep, then f#&@ around with it. If you destroy it, meh, format and reinstall. If you mess up your bios, just reflash it.
I've screwed more things up than I can count, but I've learned so much from it that I never make those same mistakes later when it is important. _________________
Yeah but I'm in the process of trying to work out how to flash my x2.3b lite and to be honest I'm a little scared.
That was me thinking... "Hmmm wonder what this Pheonix bios loader does", when had AID disk in.. "Install to C drive sounds good"..
"Hmm wonder why my console wont boot shit & why's the AID icon on flubber screen been replaced by a linux 1"
Did i lock the bigger HDD so could boot MS dash with chip off NO
Did i back up the HDD 1st? Well yeah kinda but cant work out why would help when cant gain access through FTP.
Your points a good 1 tho Greven. I'm def learning to takes steps in the event of something goin wrong..just wish had taken better ones now tho _________________

I had to flash a x2.3b as well when the bios had become corrupted. Someone gave it to me after messing with a bios disk. It fragged if the chip was turned on. I ended up having to order a x2 programmer that actually worked quite well and let me put a replacement bios as well as the Flashbios in the second bank just to be safe.
At the time I had never worked with a modchip, so I certainly learned a lot.
Hope everything works out for you. _________________

man i love this modchip , i mean softmodding is good and everything but i
mean if u really want to experience alot , then a modchip is the way to go.. i now have a softmodded xbox v.1.4 and chipped xbox v.1.0 and also a xbox 360 which i extemely love. i barely even play my softmodded one cuz its limited to the things i can doo with it compared to the softmod. i mean i guess it basically depends on ur preference on what u want out of your xbox. i love my xecuter modchip , i mean it took me a while to get it flashed but ever since then i have been saying , IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!!

Do you have any good bios banks? For example, did you leave a bank flashed with FlashBIOS by chance?
If so, use FLashBIOS and just change the banks after booted to the FlashBIOS screen to fix the other banks.
If not... Well, you might have a hard time with it. What BIOS did you have before?
Did you backup your eeprom file onto your PC? Or did you back it up but it is sitting on your xbox HDD?
I ended up having to buy the X2 programmer, but I hope a more experienced chipper can ask some other questions that might be useful. _________________
Think i may be missing the idea here and looking increasingly like gonna have to buy a new console.
Thanks tho to all who'v replied and big up to the forum in general
The x2bm as far as i can see would let me build bios, but why would i need to build them when i have a whole range of them on my PC in the AID folder.
Seems wierd to me could get this far from installin an app off an installer disk. I'd seen the warnings for configmagic but didnt notice anything similar for PBL which seems shame now.. but suppose should have read up more 1st.
Is there no tool which when having the info below could let me lock the HDD and turn chip off so could at least have my MS dash back the way was when bought console. So at least could play my original games?
