this was the closest place i could find to my topic to post so i did so. i will be able to show off my xbox in a few weeks however.

I am currently painting my xbox case so i removed all the guts. the problem is is that is still wanted to play my xbox. so i set the whole thing up on the floor and i put it all together the way it would be in the case. but when i turn it on it is really fuzzy and i can not really see much. i know it has nothing to do with my tv or tv connection.

what did i do to the xbox to make it so fuzzy? how can i fix it?
Can i fix it?

You can fix it by putting it back in its case. You NEVER want to use electronics while touching something thats possibly flamable(carpet, dunno if its on carpey though). Either way, the xbox mobo needs to be grounded, and it gets that ground when it is attached to thed case. If you painting, wait.

It is a distinct possibilty that trying to run it while not ground may have friend your mother board. If your lucky it will all work when you put it back to together.

Remember the guy in MK3(John Tobias) that used to shoot across the screen and say, TOASTY!!! Wink

Electrostatic Discharge(ESD)- One of the causes of charge separation that creates an ESD event is the triboelectric effect, in which certain materials become electrically charged after coming into contact with another different material and then being separated. This is why people experience ESD events after walking on a rug, descending from a car, or removing some types of packaging. In all these cases, friction between different materials causes triboelectric charging that, when discharged, becomes ESD.

Thank You Wilkpedia.. Very Happy
