You need to double check your chip install. If you are getting a frag condition immediately then the chip isn't booting up.
I am thinking that your chip probably at least came flashed with maybe a cromwell bios so it should at least get to the cromwell screen.
I am sure Aladdin or anyone else with aladdin expertise will respond soon. Sorry, I am a Xenium installer.
Are all of your extra wires installed to complete the 1.6 version install?
I personally haven't chipped any 1.6 machines yet so I wish I could be more help.

but i'm having a bit of dificulty trying to figure out the GND and D0 part of the picture.
Do i solder that point to the D0 on the chip? or to ground?

When you say the chip doesn't work, are you just getting the frag as soon as you launch the xbox?
What is happening?
As far as the D0 wire, there are two ways the Xenium can be done. First, if you are using a D0 loom that plugs into the chip then there is one wire that goes to the D0 hole and another that goes to ground. I just use a standard 30AWG wire and solder from the D0 point on the chip, to the D0 point on the MB and skip needing the extra wire and loom connection.
I'm not sure if that is the same for the Aladdin or not. On any of the install images I only see one wire just going straight to the D0 point. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

"Have you received a chip recently? You may have been sent an Aladdin Live+. If your programmer has both USB and LPT connected and you have set the correct port and it doesn't detect the chip Click here you need to add one wire temporarily to reprogramme your chip. This is to make the chip compatible with the new Xbox 1.6A & B versions."

Hi guys,
sorry for not getting to reply any sooner, but I've been down with a bitch of a bug.
Today I managed to reply to most of my PM's before in my infinite wisdom I pressed delete all, well I was on the second page and had answered all on that page and thought no need to mark them as the whole page is done... but it deleted the unanswered messages on page one too.
I answered the older questions first so if I ignored your PM I apologize.
But anyway on to the solutions.
The problems quite a few people have had is because there is actually two different versions of the 1.6 box, the techie calls them A & B.
The Aladdin XT as with original Aladdin Live works fine with 1.6A, but with 1.6B a switch is needed on the XT. For the Aladdin Live a plus version was made. The factory did not tell me they shipped me the Live+, I didn't know therefore I was shipping it to my customers. For this again I apologize.
The solution to make the Aladdin Live? work perfectly on every Xbox as it should can be found at www.aladdinlive.com/mod. It requires only one wire between programmer and chip, then use the programmer to load one of the BIOS from the website. It won't matter which version of Xbox you have, you'll have to flash the Aladdin Live+ this way to make it work.
After which you'll not ever have an Aladdin problem again.
For those of you who don't have a programmer there is a new version of the Live+ coming within the next week. This chip doesn't need this extra wire method and I will happily replace any mod.
Hope this helped.

After I installed my aladdin live in 1.6 xbox, chip didn't work, but now I fixed the problem, to anyone with the same problem, this was my solution, I hope it helps you.
Well I follow the diagrams provided from aladdinlive.com, and I rebuildered lpc points exactly, only D0 point I changed (I soldered this point in Mo Bo to ground) and it works fine, but without xboxlive functions, so I had to connect an external switch, between points D0 and ladoframe(r7p4)and It works great.

What bios did you use. I have a aladdin live and a 1.6 xbox too and I can't get it to work. When I ground the DO point I just get FRAG and it won't boot. Is that a bad bios. I have tried aladdin 1.6, and m8 1.6 same deal won't work. Whats up!!!

You must connect the D0 and BT.

It seems your chip don't have the correctly bios version, I have aladdin live with m8 1.6 bios in it, it works great, or maybe your wires, check your wires! they most be as short as possible, for the bios you can flash you chip with m8 1.6, when your xbox starts you will see an evox logo on the left corner of your screen.

Please bare with me since this is the first time I have tried this. I just installed the chip on my xbon v 1.6. As far as I can tell, it's installed correctly. Now I can't even get the dvd tray to open. All I get is the fan going on and off. Is there something else I should do?

hello this is my first time here
I recently bought the XT and a programmer. I've been told this programmer cannot be used with the XT even though the XT has a program slot?
Here is a link to my post at another forum.
I have tried it all, except for playing around with the write protect mode that is said to be an issue with the 4064 XT's.
My XBOX boots just fine with the chip installed. I get the standard orange for a second or so and when the bios cannot boot, my XBOX restarts into the regular bios. My problem is my chip came with a 1.0-1.5 EVOX M8 bios and cannot enter the flash mode for cd/dvd-rom flashing. I bought the chip (2websites said this aladdin live programmer works with XT) and it cannot be recognized by the aladdin flashing program or Ixia flasher. I tried to unlock my LPT ports and made sure all the settings were correct in my bios. I checked the usb cable with a volt meter and it is getting power.
Pretty much ready to order the new XBIT 1.6 unless someone can help me out. God knows aladdin cannot, or Team XENO!

First time here
I have tried everything and am fairly convinced that the Aladdin Live chip will not work with the 1.6 XBox version. I first tried installing the chip in the xbox and flashing it but it kept getting to "known bios...halting" and no further.
I tried several types of media and several versions of the bios, cd's, dvds and that's as far as it would go. It would never start the flashing process.
I read up and several people mentioned that some chips need the programmer and it will flash the chip easily. Right. That didn't work.
The programmer doesn't even detect the chip.
So now I'm sitting here with two aladdin chips that don't work and I'm completely stuck. Aladdin or anyone that could help, please give me the missing pieces!
Thanks much.

Hey Aladdin, in what direction am i supposed to put the chip onto the pin header on the mother board? is there a picture of a mounted aladdin live+ somewhere? Another thing, do i need to use a special kind of wire for the D0 point, or can i use the one that came with the chip?
