Please help, I have been searching for answers but can't seem to find any out there that fits my situation. I got a Xbox from a cousin and was planning on modding it but the dvdrom drive didn't work.
So I ppurchased a dvdrom (will be delivered today) and I purchased a new 200 gig hard drive (was delivered yesterday). So yesterday i was just preparing everything making sure I had all the neccessary items. And when i turned on the xbox nothing but black screen.
No Sound, no video.
This xbox is unmodded as of now and I was hoping to be able to still play xbox live on it... Is there any fixing it? Is it the bios? is it the av cable input/output or is it the hard drive..
I have tried 1 Hdef cords as I have also tried standard av cords.
I have the dvdrom drive completely removed now as i wasn't doing anything anyway...
Any help would be very much appreciated

so let me get this straight, you tried to power up your xbox with the dvd drive in or out?, Is the eject led flashing? _________________

Ok I got an update.... i got the new DVDrom drive and installed it and it is still not ejecting and someone told me I had a coma xbox... I have version 1.4 or 1.5 and need to know how to get it out of coma state. I would rather not chip it as I have used too much money on it o begin with and I suck with a soldering iron...

Well you don't need a solder for all chips you can go solderless...but A did you start the xbox with out the DVD drive? Next is your Xbox softmodded? Which it will have to be if your slaping a 200gb but the DVD drive should be fine without modding it at all. It almost sonud if your mobo is cooked even before you started to order things _________________ The mighty V6 Passat came to chew bubble gum and kick%^* and shes all out of bubble gum!

If its a comatose xbox, your gonna have to chip it anyways, no if's, ands or buts, anything in order to fix this without having to chip it, requires soldering. Just look for your cheapest solderless modchip, it doesnt have to be extravagant to do its job. _________________
