After a problem start, I am back up.

Now, this is where I screwed up before. Setting XBMC as a default dash - right now I have evoxdash.xbe on my e: and XBMC in e:\apps\XBMC with default.xbe. I used SID4.5 to softmod.

In my c: drive I have xboxdash.xbe - I followed all the shortcut tutorials and it still kept loading the evolution dash. My evolution dash says that I have Elite X/E bios.

Please help me work this out - I seem to have follwed all the instructions but it ALWAYS boots to the evolution dash.

So, I had a close escape earlier and so I wanted to copy over files from the xbox to PC as a backup - I know the most important is EEPROM - but I can't find it anywhere in my HD ( see attached). Where is it? The back up file in E doesn't have it. VERY CONFUSED.

HELP!

if you want xbmc all you need to do is go to aideluxe.com and download AID 3 burn that into a DVDR. get your dash back into evox and put the AID disc in, go to install dashboard, install xbmc and your done. As for eeprom in evoX dash, go to settings, and backup. once you've done so your eeprom should be in C:/backup when you FTP your xbox.

Thanks - I have had problems trying to work out what DVD-Rs or CD-R work with this thing. Nothing boots - except a game.

I have a Thomson DVD drive and read that it is really picky. I have tried various makes of DVD-R/-RW and CD-RWs - but nothing works.

So, if I need to use a boot disc, this kinda causes a problem.
