Hey all. I am blessed to be able to game on a 57" Widescreen HDTV, but I know due to lack of credit, costs, and other reasons not every one has the opportunity to grace their gameroom/livingroom with state of the art video equipment.
I just overheard a radio ad that may or may not be of some use to people here in the states.
Keep in mind, that this is most likely a rent to own scenerio and like all rent to own deals, in the long run you do pay more...but, if it's your only option it may be well worth it. I do not know the terms as I personally don't have any interest in this deal, but some of you may want to pursue it.
The company is called Blue Hippo or something of the sort. They are offering 42" HDTV Plasma TV's to anyone who has a checking account and a home phone. The ad on the radio specified 39.00 per week as a starting fee. So, it looks like for 160.00 per month, you can get a Plasma TV. When compared to widescreen TV costs at your local Rent A Center stores, this is extremely competitive.
If anyone looks further into this, go ahead and post for others to see. Good luck! I hope it's a solid program. They also mentioned that ANY credit situation is approved so don't worry if you have poor or bad credit.

Hi guys,
want to know something really funny..
I have a 150inc - 300 inc HDTV Projector (widescreen) and i only use it for XBOX hehe (well i lie,, movies too)..
Imagine that.. A huge 300inch screen on your WALL with full 5.1 surround sounds and subs.. Kick ass.. I used to have a screenshot of my loungeroom on http://www.lantus-x.com forums..
No wonder i have wirelss controllers.. My xbox and projector screen is like 10ft away from the lounges.. You need it..
Ill try and find a copy of the image i had of my setup in my loungeroom..
you all will spin out.
My projector is A BENQ.. I recommend these units to anyone.. You can choose to view in WIDESCREEEN or normal.. I luv it..

I have looked into the BenQ HD Projectors...they are super good, and priced right!
I wish I had the wall to do that, it would definitely be done!
My friend and I made a projector at his place, it turned out pretty cool, but nowhere near the quality of today's HD projectors.
One of these days I am going to get my lower level of my house back. The wife uses it for her Nail Salon.
That is when I will definitely go projection. It's perfect as it has a bar and fireplace. It also has very small windows (only three) and can be kept very dark. I'm a HDTV nut and am in awe how well the projection HD units look.
I'm not sure on how large your subwoofer is, but I purchased (from an auction) some equipment from a Lowe's Movie Theater that folded. I got a 3000 Watt Subwoofer and some serious Theater Surround Sound Speakers. The Lowes Theater that folded was only 16 months old, and this was in 2002 so it's state of the art equipments. To satisfy their bankruptcy they were forced to have an auction. I always have told myself that when I add on to my home I am going to build a screening room for gaming and movies and install this sound system. My wife just bitches that it takes up space..HA. I only use a 300Watt Sub in my livingroom with my current system, but it does some serious thumping for it's size. I love home theater sound. I have had surround sound since 1988. My first setup was Nikko and Marantz. That was in the day where you had a separate surround sound decoder connected to your Amplifier. Everything was separate. The tuner, Amp, decoder...and I had a huge ass video disk movie player. They looked like CD's the size of old vinyl LP's. The whole system cost more than my car back then. My parents thought I was nuts....but that didn't stop them from watching movies.
I also had a front projection Mitsubishi Projection TV...remember the old curved screens. Man, I thought I was the shit back then..HA. Now the video systems are so much better. It's amazing what we thought was high quality then versus now.

Here is the deal with Blue Hippo for those who are interested. I guess they do this with PC's too, but I didn't get any info on that.
They require payments for 22 months. You can either pay 39.00 per weak or 78.00 bi-monthly, the funds have to be auto deducted from your checking account.
You have to have a home phone.
They require a down payment of $900.00 before they will ship. You are not allowed to pay the $900.00 all at once as they want you see you make payments on it. They will accept no more than $150.00 per week or $300.00 bi-monthly. Once your down payment is recieved your Plasma HDTV will be shipped to you via UPS. Expect to wait up to three weeks to get.
So, in closing it looks like it would take a month and a half to finalize the order process via your downpayments, then up to another three weeks to get your TV. Blue Hippo also will report your payments to all three major credit reporting agencies once you have your machine paid off.
All in all, if you have the $900.00 it isn't that bad of a deal for those who are trying to establish credit and want a state of the art Plasma HDTV. The only downfall I see is some patience are definitely required as one can go to a local Rent A Center and get a DLP rear projection HDTV and have it the same day with no down payment!

Hi guys,
You bastards, you USA dudes get some great deals.. I wish i could do that here.. If you find any deals in future could you also mention if they ship worldwide etc..?
Love hearing of all the cool things you guys can get over there..
i called bluehippo , the TV is made by Panasonic , i dont know how good they are... Also , why are they not advertising the brand?
Makes me feel like the site is a scam of some sorts? bump for more info or opinions.

Yeah, I know. I am brand loyal too. However, if you put a 8000:1 contrast ratio 42" Plasma HDTV in front of me, it could say, Kelloggs on the nameplate and I'd be smiling!!
The upside to bluehippo is they are a true finance company. You get credit established and then after 22 months, go to Best Buy and get what you really want!! Then you can take advantage of some of the lower interest deals and get bigger sets.
I'll keep a lookout and for worldwide offers.
BlueHippo operates out of Baltimore MD USA if anyone is interested.
They are only a finance company, they do not furnish the products. A separate vendor does that.
I would imagine that they don't advertise the brand name on the website and such because they probably go with whatever brand fit's into the finance mold. Depending on who offers the best prices they may switch vendors from time to time and then they don't have to go changing all their ad campaigns to reflect new brands. Just my hunch _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Speaking of wonderful big screens....just today I picked up a 58" JVC widescreen HDTV for $800 brand spanking new. Now all I need is two things. #1 the HDTV cord for the Xbox (heading out in about 5 minutes to do that) and #2 the surround sound system. Im in gaming heaven right now....YAHOO!!!! lol

Holy smokes..where did you get that deal?? I have the 57" JVC I'ART HDTV Widescreen in my livingroom. I have had it for almost two years now.
My Phillips 60" Rear Projection was my favorite until I got the widescreen. I also have a 55" Phillips and a Toshiba 43". I am a TV Junkie for sure.
Do yourself a favor and if you have a HDTV Cable or Satellite receiver, utilize the DVI connection on the JVC, I would imagine your model will have DVI input. It truly makes a difference. Unfortunately, Monster DVI cable is $99.00, but the picture from DVI is just so much brighter. I have component cables connected to my Video 2 input and the DVI is my Digi In...I can swap back and forth while watching a HDTV channel and the difference is staggering!
My next purchase is going to be a DLP TV, or Plasma. The only downfall about playing your xbox or any other gaming console on your rear projection TV is phosphorus burn in. Be careful what games you play and how long you play them. My friend believe it or not was a duck hunt fanatic. He totally ruined his big screen. Everytime you are watching a movie and a dark scene comes up you can see the background of the game burnt into the screen. With DLP, LCD, and Plasma TV's...no burn in. DLP's are so bright too..colors a lot cleaner and more vibrant.
Congrats on the TV..you are going to love it man! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

The Best Buy close to me was having a close-out sale.....pissed me off because I always bought stuff from them. My cable company said something about providing a cord that was worth $80. I wonder if it is the same one you are talking about?

This TV is a flat screen....but what your saying is dont play the xbox on it too much? I dont want to ruin the TV. But now Im having second thoughts about playing on it. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :
