I have a problem (error 21) I could relly use some assistance with: I have an xbox (unsure if it is a v1.0. or v1.1 as I dont know how to tell) I beleive the mod chip to an excuter as bios checker said genuine excuter however when evolution x WAS working on my machine when booting it said "Matrix Inside" so I am confused?!??!?
After I had installed evolution x I had realised that there was no memory management as there is on the MS dash, after doing some digging around I had made the assumption that the TDATA/UDATA folders had something to do with the game saves but seemed unmanagable. One day by accident I had ran a file called xobox.xbe and it started to install the xbox live stuff when my machine re-booted I had the ms dash and could manage that game saves on the HD on this occasion I just put slayers install disk back in my xbox and reinstalled evolution x to the HD.
I recently tried to duplicate what I had done before (running xobox.xbe) but ended up running the "pre xbox live pach" on the slayers install disk, then when my machine rebooted all I got was the error 21 screen with the service message and the red and green flashing LED.
I made a backup of my Xbox C partition but I can not FTP the files back to the Xbox as it will not boot past the error 21 screen, I have tried to boot the machine with the slayers install disk in the DVD drive but it will still not boot from the DVD and goes back to the error 21 screen.

Hi Guys,
I noticed this thread becoming active again so i thought i had better update how to fix E21 in this post too.
Ok. E21 (Error 21) is a dashboard related error.
Normally it means you are missing vital files from your xbox c:\ parition.
E20 is directly related to the Dashboard files but i have found from previous experience E21 is very simlar.
Even though you get E21 you should still be able to BOOT GAMES from the DVDROM drive.. The bios boots the DVDROM first and if no dvd found in the drive it will boot the xbox c:\ parition next.
INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE AIDeluxe:
1. Unrar the file so you have a .iso file.
(use winzip or winrar)
2. Burn to DVD-R/CDRW using Nero, DVDDecrypter or other cd/dvd burning software that supports .iso extensions. (leave all the settings as the default).
3. Boot the burnt AUTO INSTALLER in your xbox with your modchip turned on.
4. A menu will be displayed.. Choose 'Install Dashboards'.. If the menu isnt displayed try reboting again to see if it boots.. If it doesnt it may be a media issue.. You will have to find the right brand of media that your xbox like.. Just try a couple of different brands and preferrably DVD-R if you have a dvd burner.
5. Choose 'Install M$ Dashboard'
Once its finished installing reboot your xbox.. Your ERROR should be gone.
Also while using the autoinstaller do a check that your HDD is LOCKED.. If it not LOCKED you will get another error when you turn off your modchip.

If you don't want to spend 5-10 dollars to join the best XBOX community out there, then you can always reload your XBOX manually. The files are out there on the net, there are tutorials to be found....you are definetly not screwed....its just going to take longer.
Seriously, I don't know why people invest all that money into a modded XBOX and then bitch about joining a site that charges a few bucks just to pay for hosting fees.

NO, of course not.. You can still find alot of downloads in our normal areas like the bittorrent section here: (FREE)

The bittorrent area and the direct connect area are absolutely free but you will have to learn how to use these programs instead of just clicking on a web link like all our other VIP Members who have donated!
The only reason you must donate to become a VIP is because of the size of the files you download from our high speed servers.. The bandwidth costs are huge and there is no way we could possibly afford to let 10,000 vistors per day download a 180mb file for free..

I'm danileito and i am new to this site. I am in need of some assistance. I must say first of all that this site has been the most helpful and comprehensive concerning the xbox console and I appreciate it very much.
My problem is that I have an error 21 softmodded xbox. I believe that this is because I deleted the dualboot.xbe file from the file explorer. I can still load games but I cannot boot a Dashboard. The solution that is posted for the error 21 seems that it would work but I am not sure that it would work with an xbox without a mod-chip. I tried to boot an burnt slayer from the dvd but it would not load. I don't know what to do. Please help. I would appreciate it.

what I do to manage my saves is that I have MXM as my boot dash. Then I run UnleashX because it has a built in gamesave manager. Or get your dash up and running then get a program called boXplorer then go to the c: drive and run msdash.xbe then it should load your MS dash.

I'm having some HUGE troubles here, every time I start the Xbox, it goes to error 21, it wasnt doing this last night when I tried it. It doesn't matter if I have a disc in or not, it still goes to that screen? Please help

kk.. You have to install a bit torrent application onto your computer first..

To my knowledge if you are getting error 21 after a softmod dont you have to do a hot swap or something?? I am not up-to-par on softmodding since it's something I dont do, but if you cant get a dash to launch, how can you do anything?
Pirrup posted a tutorial on what to do, you do not have to be a VIP to access tutorials, so you are not screwed by the way.

I'm not sure what prompted this statement, but seriously... nobody is screwing you by offering a VIP download section here. You have many options to mod/fix your Xbox other than our VIP section. Our VIP section is mainly for convenience.
By convenience I mean, these are all files you can find openly on the internet. We are not the ONLY source for files. However, we do make it much easier to find the "hard-to-find" files by offering VIP members access to a special section. Because the files take up a lot of bandwidth since they are frequently downloaded, we only allow people who have donated to the site to access the files. This helps the site owner pay the extremely high hosting fees that this site commands.
If your Xbox is messed up by something you did...and you cannot access our VIP download section for the files you need to fix it... you are not screwed....by us anyway.
Furthermore, you are not screwed at all. You have options. You can pay someone to fix it. You can pay MS to fix it. Or, you can do what hundreds of thousands of other people done which is use search engine and comb the internet for what it is you are looking for.
Feel free to post any questions in regard to your problem and we will give you as much info as possible to assist you in resolving your issue.
But, if you are so inclined to make a donation to this site, the owner will fix you up with a VIP membership and you will then have access to all the other files that are available. It is truly worth it. If it was not for this site, I would have never really got into modding. This site has made my life much easier by having everything so conveniently accessible at the click of a mouse button.
I remember trying to search through file sharing programs when I needed files...oh man..how arduous that was. I would work the search engines for hours upon hours until I found a file. Then the file would be corrupt or worse yet have a virus.
Our files are good to go. They are generally submitted by our VIP members so they have already been tested. We love to share with all of our VIPs.
