New here and need some help, i've tried all day installing a new Hd in my xbox its been a headach.......
Heres the stats maybe it will help, its softmodded SID 2.0 with Evox Dash and I tried to make the hard drive with xboxhdm 1.9 ok now to the problem I've tried installing two different hard drives both the same error. Everything goes fine up until I go to lock it 'lockhd -a' and I get the following message:
Drive on primary master is frozen!
Cannot change the security status of a frozen drive.
Try to disable 'automatic detection' on the primary ide channel in your pc bios and reboot.
Two drives same thing, The last drive I tried is a Seagate Barracuda Model #380021A 80gb it has nevver had a OS installed on it, it was just used for storing programs and whatnot 'backup drive'.
Any info on this would be GREATLY appreciated, I literally still have everything laying out, trying to figure this out.
Thanks alot in advance for any answers on this.

its hard to say as all pcs are diffrent . but its somewhere there, basicly your telling your bios to turn off the hd so that when you type in lockhd -a it wont freeze . or you can also try another pc , you would just need to lock it . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Oh and when I do that its the only drive in the pc and it is the master drive.

i dont think it will work... pretty much go to the bios where you changed your boot order to read from cd drive first. somewhere in there you can disable or turn off or something that invloes all of your drives ... once this is changed just run 3) and lock it .
try another pc if you cannot do this . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

To follow up on this I finally figured out how to set my bios not to detect the drives on boot up, motherboards alot different than the others i've used over the years and its new to me, besides that once I done that it locked just fine, thanks alot for answering as quick as you did.
The reason I started this thread was where I haven't made a backup xbox hd I didn't now if the drive was lockable or not, it wasn't listed here im gonna add it though.
Thanks again.

Sorry it took me so long to respond (work most the time), but anyway after I got past figuring out how to set my Mobo it went very smoothly from there, thanks again for your help. Least now if anyone has a Asus AV8 Deluxe I can tell them how to set the bios to not detect the hd on startup, lol
