Hi, I just recently got an Xbox and found out it was modded. When I boot up the console, it shows an Xecuter2 logo on the bottom of the Microsoft logo. I have some questions.
Is their a way to disable the modchip so I can go on Live? When I disable the modchip, will the Xecuter2 logo disappear on boot?
Also how can I check out what Bios version the Xecuter is. Also is their a way to tell what Xecuter2 version modchip it is without opening the Xbox? If the only way to tell is by opening the Xbox, once opened how do I then tell what version it is.
I'm not sure what version my Xbox is but it says it is made in Mexico and has a manufacturing date of October 04, 2002 which from a guide says it is mostly likely a v1.0 as anything made after November 2002 in Mexico is a 1.1?
I've download the AID 3.10 ISO but wanted to get some confirmation on things before I use it.
Since it is a modded chipped Xbox, do I still need to back up the EEProm and stuff or can I just use AID and format everything? I was reading about softmods and it was usually recommended to backup the EEPRom and stuff but I'm not sure if a modded chipped Xbox requires that?

I just found out that my bios version is X2 4973 (1.0) if that helps any.

AID 3 should tell u alot of stuff you asked about, and its the best auto installe rout there.
Your safe to format the hdd with the chip and get everything how you want it. With a chip it doesnt need to be locked so you dont need the eeprom. Softmodded xbox have to have locked hdds.

Yeah I've been toying around with AID 3. It does show a lot of stuff but does it actually tell me what modchip I have? I didn't find anything that said it. I can't open my Xbox yet as the tools I ordered haven't arrived. Do you know if its possible to disable the Xbox modchip without opening the box?

Most mods have a way of bypassing the mod so that you can go online. Some you just turn off, some you just boot in a different way, but its normally possible.

any xbox will need the HDD locked if you plan to use Xbox Live. locking and unlocking is just easier if you have a chip

Anyway, go to tools in AID and select BIOS Checker. That will tell you what BIOS you have. As for the chip, u might have to wait for the tools and open it.....

Yeah my bios is listed in the original post. I'm not sure if this Xbox has already been on live as I got it used and the modchip was already preinstalled. I had originally planned to softmod but then when I booted up the Xbox for the first time, I noticed the xecuter2 logo and realized that it was a modded Xbox that I got. I'm guessing most likely the original owner has already been on live though so I guess I can't change hard drives. Thanks

I just check, he has already accessed live so I guess I'm stuck with this HD.
You said I might get lucky if I create a new account? Should I wait then until I get a new HD before a create an account? Thanks

It won't make any difference if you try and create a new account. Your MB serial number and eeprom have already been recorded, along with HDD info. When you register, it'll notice that an Xbox with that number has been registered before and that now, things don't match up. It will ban you.
Sorry man, the only real way was to signup after the mod had been completed and M$ had no record of your Xbox. Or get a new, unregistered MB from eBay or something.

Doesn't that require like getting that from another xbox that has not went on live? If so, I'd rather not.
