Posted: Fri Jun 02, 2006 12:07 am Post subject: My backup won't play in my xbox? Im a noob
Ok i just softmodded my xbox using SID. So now I have evox as the dash and XBMC as a application. I want to make a backup copy of amped 2 (i own the original). I have the retail HDD so I would like to back up up to a disc. I used Clonexb to make an iso file and then I burned the iso file to a dvd+r disc using Roxio. I then put the disc in my xbox and nothing happened? I clicked "Play game/media from dvd" and nothing happened. Im not sure how to start the game. I have a phillips drive in my xbox and according to the tutorial it can play dvd+r discs. I would try dvd-r but my dvd burner is only dvd+r.
Did I not burn it right?
Do I have to patch the game or something?
Should I try another brand of dvd+r discs?
How to I "tweak" My phillips drive?

P.S. This site is awesome. There's no way I would have learned so much without this site. I probably would have broke my xbox without the tutorials. Im planning on doing the VIP thing.

i'm glad you like the website , does the game fit on the retail hd? , what i would do is try eiter c-xbox tool or craxtion and use its " disc ripper" FEATURE.... what it does? basicly it ftp your game from dvd drive to the pc then you can use qwix to make it xbox iso and then it should work .
but if it fits on hd put it there also hard drive upgrades are easy and dont require modchips ... but im sure you know that by now right? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

yea, i put amped on my HD and it works !, I just wanted to figure out how to make dvd copies of games also. I made the iso with cbox tool then burned it to a dvd+r. I think the problem is either me burning it wrong or my Phillips drive. I also can't get AID to work on a Cd-r. It seems like my phillips wont read anything. I will try qwix to make the iso now. What program do you recomend for burning the iso onto a disc?

For Nero, I'd recommend the ISO burn at the slowest rate possible.

you can always put in the original game ftp all the files use xiso to make the iso and burn it using clondecd or dvd decrytper thats how i did it _________________ I came i saw i modded.

i guess its just a matter of finding a dvd+r disc that my phillips will read
how do you "tweak" a xbox dvd drive?

grab any dvdrs ... i think dvd-r work better. as for the tweeking i think it involes someting with omhs... anyways dont know much of that... but theirs a saying " if it anit broken dont fix it " _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

ok so now that I burn the disk here's what happens when i put it in my xbox
1. blank gray screen for longggg time
2. game finally loads to welcome screen
3. dirty disc error
