Post subject: Patch Games Automatically Or Manually.. YOU CHOOSE!

hey davey,

Most games have copy protection or as they say 'MEDIA FLAGS' which stop your XBOX GAMES RUNNING from the HDD.

You need to find out if the game your copying has CP.. You will know really anyhow when it doesnt work from your xbox hdd..

AUTOMATIC REMOVAL OF COPY PROTECTION:
To remove CP you need to download .ACL files for DVD2XBOX.. These .ACL files have all the info needed to patch games so they run off the HDD or off DVD-R.. We have some in the VIP Downlodas section but not sure how many mate.. Once you get the .ACL files you just copy them into your DVD2XBOX DIRECTORY.. Smile

I hope you see what mean..

If you want to patch your games manually on your pc just read below..

How to patch your games manually:
1. just download the patching tools which are for your pc..
http://xbox-hq.com/html/downloads-cat23.html

2. Then copy the DEFAULT.XBE from the root of your XBOX HDD where your dvd2xbox just copied the game too..
eg. E:/GAMES/GAMENAME/default.xbe
and ftp it to your PC.

3. Make sure you keep a backup of the default.xbe file.
4. Now open the patching tools say "ADR PATCHER" and then choose to load the PATCH DATA (you can download patch data in the downloads section too)
5. Now choose the default.xbe file you just copied from your xbox to your pc.
6. Click Start or GO (something like that) and then it will check it it needs to be patched.. It will tell you when its done.. Now just copy it back to the directory on your xbox..

Heres a link to the DOWNLOADS PATCH SECTION:

hope that helps mate,

cheers,

now you should be able to ftp the PATCHED default.xbe file back into the same directory where you got it from..

Now the game should boot ok..

Please note:
ADR Patcher is getting quite old now so i dont know how good it is now..
It does still remove the protection if it exists but there may be new kinds of protection now.

You should upgrade your dash to Evox Build 3935.

I had the same problem when I backed up a few games with DVD2Xbox. I could only use Avalaunch or MXM to launch the game, but as soon as I upraded using our autoinstaller now every game shows up in my Evox Menu (games on HD) selection.

later man

Hi Davey,

Just copy the games into whatever folder shows up in your menus.

Its sounds like you need to edit your EVOX.INI and add lines like this..

JUST EXAMPLE:
AutoAddItem "F:\Games";
AutoAddItem "E:\Games";

look for some code like this in your evox.ini.. This will fix all your problems.. If you want your EVOX DASHBOARD to automatically lookup any directory which you want just add the directory like the example shown above..

THE EXAMPLE IS NOT 100% but you will get the idea when you look at your own EVOX.INI file on your C:\ PARITION of your XBOX.
