it is strange, it does the startup animation and then hangs where it ahas the xbox logo, but never says microsoft, and after ~30 sec it goes to error, no code... lemme know if u have any ideas... or I am returning the HD tommorow.. _________________ Xbox V1.0.. so old it cant host Halo2 Games anymore..

I am Returning the HD, but I have a 10 gig lieing around, which is not big enough for an upgrade, but i was wondering if I could use it externally with UnleashX using a external adapter that I have and an xbox to USb cord... right now when i plug it in It shows up as "L: [Not Formatted]", what do I have to format it as so i can use it for storage? any help let me know _________________ Xbox V1.0.. so old it cant host Halo2 Games anymore..

ok i swapped the the master slave to cable select and i got error 06?do i put it on cable select when i using the xbox hd maker?and then switch it to master slave?i tried the eeprom form my back up folder and the one from my utdata folder. i also used the c folder not the one in my backup.the both seem to be the same i dont know if that matters?

if you get 06 its wron eeprom.bin do you have sid 4 and above? if so the real eeprom is under E/udata/ _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

i used both udata and the one from the backup file and niether one seems to work because i still get error 06?do i need the bios file?there was a bios file in with the eeprom.bin do i need to put that in with the eeprom?I have been switching the jumper as well like it says and i still cant get it?I used sid 4.5

So i just upgraded my HD last night using the xboxhdm tuitoral here on xboxhq http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-185.html and had no problems with it.. the only issue i had, is my xbox would only boot into M$ Dash.. someone else in this thread had the same problem and they went ahead and just re-softmodded over it. So i did the same today... with a couple small scares along the way.. but good luck prevailed... but my question remains..
Why does it boot into M$ Dash when you create a new xbx HD with all your files from your old HD? And is there a way to fix it without having to re-mod?

did you had any softmods before sid 4.0 or 4.5? you can re-create eeprom back up and it should overwrite the one on E/udata/
