Hi!
First, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy the culture of this website. You are all very helpful to one another, and that is rare in this day and age. You rock.
That being said...
I'm a complete noob to this mod thing, but I thought I successfully soft-modded my xbox using the splinter cell exploit and Auto Updater 2.11. I installed all the dashboards, and all the utilities (kind of eager to try stuff), but now, whenever I boot, I receive the dreaded "Your Xbox requires service" message (13 in the top-left corner if there's no disc in the drive, 14 if there is a disc in the drive). I'm at a loss of what to do next, and tried the solutions for error code 13 and 14 posted on the site, to no avail. I can run most legit games, but if I go into Xbox Live config, it just boots me back to the game after about 10 seconds, and no change takes place. I can't boot from my original AU 2.11 disc that I made, so I downloaded 3.0, but I can't boot from that either.
Any help anyone would be willing to give me would be greatly appreciated. I'm on MSN as brodie @ witty . com

well did you tried to boot with original game you softmoed and re mod? . 2) you can do hotswap w/out an eeprom that will fix it all . 3) mod chip _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Like gus said, just pop in the disc that you orginally used to softmod the xbox with. (If you did it that way). From there, just go about how you would normally softmod an xbox.
When you get to that screen make sure that you:
1: Install softmod (just install to C: for now)
2: Install Dashboard (just use Evox for now and put it in C
3: Reboot (at this point, you should be at Evox)
4: (if your at Evox) put in the AID 3.0 (3.01 if you've updated the ISO)
5: Format all partitions and cache
6: Install MS Dash (if the xbox gets turned off, atleast you have that to fall back onto)
7: go to 'softmod' section
8: install which ever softmod you prefer.. (i still like SID 3.1 since i use chips if i want to get on live, best to keep this to the C: still)
9: Install Softmod Dashboard (i recommend XBMC, also install this to C)
10: I would reboot now, just to make sure every thing works.. if so, then continue installing all the programs you want.
WHERE I THINK YOUR PROBLEM CAME IN.. i think when you install the dashes, you may have installed the regular hacked dashes for people that use mod chips.. it over rights the evoxdash.xbe that your softmod uses, and makes the softmodded files useless..
just be sure that you stick to one softmod dash in the C drive, and if you want to test others out, just install them as 'Apps' in another partition (E or F if your hdd is large enough)

I have tried inserting the disc I used to soft-mod, but I receive the error 14 in that case. I will try the hot-swap tonight if possible, and let you know how it goes.

I tried booting from the discs again, but get the same error 14. Is there a good place to get these screwdrivers, or is there anything else I can do from a software standpoint? I tried FTPing to the xbox, but since I didn't set that up before it died, am I out of luck there?

I could boot to the game of splinter cell, but couldn't see the savegame exploit either on a memory card, or on the hard drive.

Ok. BTW, I think that you'dd like AID 3 better that 2.11. It's a big D.L. but it's worth it! you can also D.L. the 3.01 update pack for more features! _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

erh i dont get it your still going to have to open it if you plan on chipping it . it uses a torx 20 , 15 and 10 you can buy those in your local hardware store or radio shack or anything like that.... what soilderless adapter you planing to put on your xbox? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
