I'm having some problems with my 4.5 n-knave, i installed it with dual boot retail but when i try to boot it in retail, it just goes to the xbl/network setup screen. and when i try to put a game in it just freezes. does anybody know how to fix this?

R u booting it with the tray open? Try takin the disc out. Turn it off then on again. The modded dash should come up. If not, tell me what all you didi to it. _________________ Moddingbandit

i can get to the modded dash no problem, it's the retail dash i want to access. When i do the retail boot, it just goes to the xbl/network connections screen and it won't let me back out to the retail dash.

This is only meant to happen when you use non-original games.
Trust me, when I mean retail, means only Original discs, and the only reason for it to freeze is when the game disc is not original.

i'm trying to use real bought-from-gamestop games in retail mode to play on xbl. Like halo, or critical hour. I don't copy games.

and when it goes to the xbl/network setup screen, it's when the tray is still open so there aren't any games in and it won't leave that area.

No, when you put in a retail game and turn the xbox off then back on, it will boot the game (cold boot). This will work. I have done this plenty a time and I am not a softmod admin. for no reason. It will work. _________________ Moddingbandit

i'll give it a shot, but when i install it, should i have the ethernet cable plugged in the back 'cause when i went to download skins/gamesaves, it just says unable to retrieve file: HTTP STATUS 11002

Make sure you have your network to DHCP or auto, then leave the cable in and boot with no dash loading. It will work like that. _________________ Moddingbandit

ok, i think i'm gonna need somebody to walk me through this 'cause i thought it was basically just backup your eeprom and ms and install with dual boot retail and you're good to go.
