Can anyone help me out here? Is there maybe a tutorial to help me out? First off I want to back up my games...and I have no clue how to in this system, I have fooled around and Im afraid I may mess it up. Second I tried to play some roms off of surreal 64...and they go to a black screen and never load up. So far those are the only puzzles Ive ran into. If you are trying to backup xbox games use dvd2xbox or PxHddLoader. Either app will get the game off the disc and onto the xbox hd.
Connect to your xbox via ftp and copy the entire folder to your pc.
I use Qwix to turn all the files into an xbox iso. In Nero (not Express) go to the 'Recorder' menu and select 'Burn Image' select the new iso and hit burn.
One question that I am having though is that dvd2xbox makes 2 default.xbe's. One that has been patched (so the game will run off the HD) and one that is the original. I usually leave them as is, but I am having trouble with SSX3. I am going to try using the original xbe so that the game doesn't think the files are on the HD. Thanks cheez puf...now my only problem is the emulator for N64, surreal 64 wont load my roms it starts to load and then gets to %100 and then goes black and stays there....any suggestions? ttyl. _________________ SE Halo Xbox v1.4 :

No idea man. Surreal used to work for. I had a different version than the one on the auto-install disc that DJB made (i think). Ever since then It hasn't worked. It does what you say your does.

I made a post about this on another thread.
If you use dvd2xbox I recommend renaming the 2 xbe's so that the original one is the one you boot not the HD patched xbe. That's what I am doing from now on. _________________ XBOX v1.1 - Philips DVD

Hey man, sorry about the surreal 64 emu not working...
You are right, I just assumed since it was off the autoinstaller it worked. I'll check into it when I get home and get you directions on how to get it going!
Hope everything else is going great and hope you like the machine. Hope the hurricane wasn't too bad for your area. Our first two days here sucked with the weather, thank god I had my xbox with me.
Last two days are beautiful, and I am headed back out to the beach. Just happened to find an internet cafe next to my condo!!
I'll probably check back in a day or two if weather is bad and I have nothing better to do.

Oh yeah, I always use PxHDD loader to copy my games. If I run into one that wont copy due to long filenames, I try DVD2Xbox
