Thanks for the helpful post and links to tutorials. I'm iabout to chip a box as well for the first time. I have a couple of questions:
About the HDD and sizes - So as I understand it, the original xbox can support disks larger than 137GB. I also understand that the chip and new BIOS can. So if I put a 300 GB drive in, I do understand that when the modchip is on, you will have large disk support. But what happens when I switch off the modchip? Am I just limited to 137 GB of space with it off? I guess that limits how many games I can store on the HDD?
About the Cromwell info - This tutorial seems to imply that you don't want to use Cromwell to boot a Linux OS. Can you store a hacked BIOS and a Cromwell on a modchip and switch between the two? My main purpose in asking this is that mostly want to run Linux, though I occaisionally want to play a game or two . What is the best config for that?
