Call for High Res Motherboard Shots
Here at Xbox-HQ, we are missing one thing that the members can help out with. We are in need of High Resolution Motherboard shots.
Now, there is a limitation:
Stock Motherboards with nothing more than a Pin header installed.
-----Please, no butchered boards or huge blobs of solder blocking view to any components.
And they need to be close enough to see the components (resitors, capacitors, etc... Just enought to get an Idea to repair the board.
Xbox Motherboard Versions
1.0
1.1
1.2
1.3
1.4
1.5
1.6 rev. A [Samsung Ram]
1.6 rev. B [Hynix Ram]
and if anyone has one and knows it for sure:
1.6 rev. C (aka 1.7) has filled in holes apparently on the Topside D0 area.
We are in need of a good reference for members who wish to repair their own board with no diagram to use.
For all those still with me and wishing to help.
Requirements:
You've seen them, just a stock motherboard with no extra wires or components. (Some Fan Modifcations can be acceptable, do to the soldering of the ground to the RF shield. This will not affect anything.)
Photo Requirements:
Use your best judgement.
High Resolution (the higher the better). Just don't kill youself on the file size, lets try to keep it under 10 mb for both top and bottom (if you can).
(A lot, yes) for now, however, this will give the admins here something to work with to make it fit properly within the confines of the site.
File Type Requirements
I don't care what format it is, just once again, best judgement, try to stay away from gifs at the moment
AND PLEASE USE WinRar or a .rar archive compression utility to compress the images.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We only ask because there are members who have some of the finest photo equipment that is simply amazing. I am still working with a shite digital camera that can barely get 3 MP.
Alrighty,
As the photos come in that we need, I will eliminate the version from this post (really tag them). So keep tuned to this post if you are wanting to help.
(I have a 2gb mailbox with 20mb per email, just don't kill me people and photo submissions only! Please )
[ADMINS/MODS: If you want to throw your email up there too, edit it in. I would appreciate the help especially if you have good imagine software....I should just put shark2th up there as default]
I would like to Thank everyone in advance and we truly appreciate your help here on Xbox-HQ! Happy Modding everyone!
Shark2th, I expect some involvement. _________________ XBOX v1.6

I would love to do that but since ol' sharky doesn't have anything but a 35 mm longview Cannon, it would be a real bitch to take shots close up. I do have one of the newest xboxes (v1.7?) and I have been curious to open it but haven't yet. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Too bare.
not very good res either.
It has no CPU, GPU, RAM, no video chip, no TSOP, no eeprom and other things i just can't see.
You don't need to take off these components shark2th. Now you have to put it ALL back together so you can play xbox tonight. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Also, I have a 1.6 with different colored DVD power cables and not the normal 1.6 white colored (as oppossed to the older yellow)
These are copper brown. But it doesn't look like a 1.7. I have checked it all over to confirm it. nothing to say it isn't a 1.6 a..b/c of the samsung ram _________________ XBOX v1.6

Don't know if these are still needed but I can take some pics of 1.4 and maybe 1.6, but only if everyone promises not to say 1.6 rev c or 1.7. They don't exist, complete fairy tale, nonsense, or really just bad QC on the part of MS, depending on your perspective.

I might still have the old pics on my computer. If you can take it with a High res, definitely, all the help is needed. I just kinda forgot about it, I have been really busy with school and work.
But of course. I will accept them, and I want to compile a set for each board for sure. So please.
And, the REV. C is just for the sake of Identification. most noobs will say they can't do this or something of that nature, so thats where the board ID on the bad laquer jobs come in. It can just be helpful instead of expalining A + B and then a bad mobo finish. _________________ XBOX v1.6
