I have a 1.6 xbox modchipped with an Executor 3 and it's working fine. I would like to mod a second xbox but this time using the softmod method. I'm presuming I can use my chipped xbox to copy a new dash to the second xbox's new HD (320Gb) ? I'm guessing I can put the new HD in my existing box and use the xecuter chip to initialize and format it, then copy the new dash (xbmc) to it, then put it in the second xbox? only problem I can see is the hard drive locking as the lock key won't macth that of the second xbox. Can anyone help determine the best way to softmod the second box?

You can use your chipped xbox to prepare the big hdd for your second box, but you cant just put a hacked dash on it then lock it with the eeprom fron the second box.It has to have the softmod files on the C drive.
You'll need to get the eeprom from the second box,then update the eeprom on your chipped box with the eeprom from the second box using configmagic.Then put the 320gig in your chipped box,use aid or the x3 to format the drive.Put ms dash 5960 on the C drive and lock it with configmagic.Take it out ,put it in the second box ,then run the softmod on it
You can also use Xboxhdm ,which may be alittle easier.If you need more help or need me to go into more detail let me know,Ive done it both ways. _________________ XBOX v1.0:

I haven't got the second box yet, but would like to ask about the different softmods available, I've seen several mentioned, audio hack, font hack etc, but am not sure which one to use, or is there an auto installer package you would recommend ?
Also, when I prepare the disk in the chipped box, I presume I have to partition it with F and G drives as it's over 120GB ? My chipped box just has one large F partitaion (292GB).
To get the Eeprom from the second box, do I need to run an exploit first to be able to run ConfigMagic ? Also where can I get MS Dash 5960 (xbins ? last time I tried I was denied access).
Lastly, what exactly can I do with Xboxhdm, the whole procedure, or just the softmod part?

I suggest using Sid4.5(very easy to use).If you dont have aid 3, I'd suggest downloading it.It has the softmod installers and the msdash on it along with alot of other usefull stuff.
When you prepare your hdd ,partion it with F and G drives.To get the eeprom from the second xbox you need to run the softmod installer.When you get to the Softmod menu screen, select "backup/restore features" then select "create eeprom backup". After you backup your eeprom, go back to the main menu.Now ftp your xbox and go to E:udata\21585554\000000000\backup,transfer the backup folder to your pc.
Xboxhdm is used on your pc to prepare and lock a hdd for use in an xbox.
