If anyone could tell me or direct me to a thred that will explain to me how to emulate original nintendo (and others if possible) games on an xbox. I need full instructions from beginning to end....

ok will this work, if i remove the hd from the xbox and hook it up to my pc, if i add all the emulators and emulated games on the hd then hook it back into the xbox- will it run?

Ok great this is exactly what I need, thanks for taking the time to help me. Basically I know NOTHING about this topic. I just have a basic xbox with no mods of any kind done to it. I need to know where to start and exactly what to do to get these emulated games to run on there. If you can provide me with a step by step process I am sure I will be able to follow. I don't really want to install any mod chips, so if there is a way of doing it without that I would like to do it that way. But if I need to get a chip I will, i just need to know which one and what to do with it. ALL HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPERCIATED!

Ok, for a softmod I would start by downloading SID4.5 and AID3.0:
SID4.5 is a torrent file, and I'm assuming you know how to use torrents. if not, let us know.
Next, you will need 1 of 3 specific games: Splinter Cell, Mech Assault, or 007: Agent under fire. Only certain versions of MA and 007:AUF will work though, so I suggest SC if possible.
Next, you need 1 of three things: a friend with a hacked xbox in which you can transfer the save game exploits onto a memory card, a USB memory stick with a USB extension cable and a xbox extension cable/controller dongle(
http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-101.html), or an action replay/megaxkey device.
If using option one, connect their xbox to your computer, FTP into it and put the 2 needed directories into E:/UDATA(21585554 and 5553000c if you are using NTSC version of splinter cell). Then go to a save game manager and transfer the files to a memory card, then move the card to your xbox and transfer them over to your HDD.
If you go the second or third route, you will need the action replay(AR) software which is available for a free download from http://www.codejunkies.com/. Use that to copy the game over to your memory device and then load it onto your xbox.
At this point with which ever method you used, your ready to load the game and access the save game. The tutorial on how to install the softmod from there is in the SID4.5 files.
I have intentionally left some information about specifics out cause most of those can be found in the tutorial section of this website. Check it out as there is lots of good info in there.

holy crap that might as well been in another language. i'm pretty good with computers, but this might be over my head. Is using a mod chip easier to do? I'm just trying to do this the most simple way, so I don't screw up my xbox.

As long as hardware is not damage(even then some times) you can always recover in one way or another.
Ok, a softmod is an software exploit used to load a hacked dashboard(OS) instead of microsofts. This is a much easier method if you don't want to open your xbox and solder(though there are solderless options available as well)
What I was explaining above was how to do a softmod. The basic idea is that a hacked save game is used with certain games to boot non-microsoft code(the softmod installer). When this non-M$ code launches, it gives you access to the hard drive within the xbox. Softmod installer deluxe 4.5(SID4.5) was developed by people that admin at this forum, and the only one that I will use. It is fairly straight forward once you are in the menu, and there is a PDF file that comes with the SID4.5 download that explains what to do.
The hard part for newbies is being able to get the exploit onto a non-hacked xbox. Those were the methods that I described above. If you have the money and want to do it the easiest way, buy an AR unit, copy the save games that comes with the SID4.5 download onto the AR memory card, and then transfer the file over to your xbox using the save game manager in the M$ dashboard.

But i think in general i lack the knowledge to do this. i dont really understand alot of the terms you are using and just dont think there is anyway for me to do this correctly. thank you for your time but i think im going to abandon my plans.

I have a xbox v1.6 and have a working xbox with a duo-x2 blue chip in it and was looking for some help on if i need to flash the chip i dl'd cromwell .tar file because the bank 0 switch setting asks for it but the computer (win XP ) doesn't known what to do with it and i can't get roxio to see the file to burn it. And on bank 1 it just has ablank screen . but it will play normaly so i know it's working .I am very confussed in if i need to flash it or need a bois and the manuf's website offers no help been looking for days . i modded a ps2 slim and got a flash file right from the website that was easy.
