Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for any help. I added Evoxdash.xbe and evox.ini to my xbox using FlashFXP. The m$ dashboard loaded, no evox. I then read a post that said, "remove the .ini file, it is pointless." I did so and evox booted. However, there was no option to launch games or apps or whatever off the hdd. So, I added the .ini file back to my xbox C hoping it would add that option. Nope- now my xbox just boots the m$ dash, I cannot ftp and cannot remove the .ini file. I have a xenium ice modchip and the OS (2.0) doesn't even boot. Also, the bios running evox is the Xecuter2 4983.67. Thanks so much for any help.

whoever said the ini file is pointless is himself pointless. It contains all the menus and setting.
you are in a strange situation. if you have an autoinstaller, try and boot from it. any of them should setup a network for you (if you are using a router) so you can ftp again.
i read somewhere here that you can rename the EvoX default.xbe to xboxdash.exe and make it work. Make sure you rename xboxdash.xbe to something else for safe keeping.

Hey hihigamma, the .ini file is important..very important. It is basically the configuration of the dashboard. Without it the program doesn't really know it's settings.
Do you have a modchip installed or was this a softmod? I was just curious to why you are FTP'ing it over instead of just using an autoinstaller. Autoinstallers are really easy to use! I noticed you are a VIP member so you have access to our autoinstaller. And since you are a VIP don't hesiate to submit a VIP ticket for help. Some more knowledgable people really keep an eye on those and they can surely help you.
What bios are you running?
You may want to configure a signature that has your xbox version, what modchip, hd size, bios and version...stuff like that. That way we know what we're up against when we are trouble shooting for you.

I was able to fix the "not able to boot xenium OS" problem (somehow my modchip was loose) Now I'm going to remove the two evox files from my hard drive and use the autoinstaller. I already have the xecuter2 4983.67 bios flashed on my chip, should I remove that for the auto installer? Also, in the autoinstaller discussion it says,
The following files are what you have to change the network settings in. To access this you have to extract the ISO using C-Xboxtool 2 (or something similar) and change these files:
StaticIP = Yes
IP: 192.168.0.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.100
DNS 1: 0.0.0.0
DNS 2: 0.0.0.0
I don't know how or what to "change" these files to and am wondering if it is even necessary-(that's what I had trouble with before) Thanks again for the help.

You don't have to do anything to your modchip bios..just let it on there since it's already flashed.
As far as your question about the autoinstaller, I am not sure what that means. I haven't used the installer yet, but I will be in a day or two. I am thinking it is so you can automatically put in your network settings if you wish. I am sure DJB or forahobby can straighten that out though.
