What info are you tryig to get from the chip??? How did you unlock your hdd??? And why??? If you have a backup copy of your eeprom from both of your xbox's then you can just follow my instructions.... _________________ http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-211.html

If he unlocked it, it's not a big deal, he just needs to grab a chip and grab the EEPROM from the HDD, then lock it up. At least it was unlocked, now he still has the option to save the bastard. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

First of all if I had a backup of my eeprom on my Laptop ,I would have been back up & running in minutes I did as the program suggested & backed up my eeprom TO MY C DRIVE & EDRIVE ON THE XBOX!
I could not ftp to or from the xbox to save it to my laptop.
Yes I probably did the worst thing possibe I unlocked the hard drive with hdunlock and hddisable, so I could possibly see it on my PC, however the pc doesnt list it as a drive letter therefor cannot access it.
I hope this explains how really badly I've Fooked it UP!!!!

Since you have unlocked your hdd and cant lock it without a chip here is what you do. Your modded xbox will be able to load the hdd with no problem now that you have unlocked it. Just put it in your modded xbox and get the eeprom off of it. You said that you had made a backup of it and it should still be on that hdd. Ftp into the xbox and pull the eeprom off of it and save it on your laptop. Then, open up ConfigMagic and lock the hdd, exit the program and restart. When you restart you shouldn't be able to boot the hdd anymore because it is locked with the eeprom that is stored on the hdd. Put the hdd back in the other box and now you are in buisness.
Also, while you have the hdd plugged into the chipped xbox remember to fix your dashboard. You should load up AID 3.0 and reinstall everything before locking it.
If for some reason it locks your hdd and you can only see it on your chipped xbox. Then you will need to unlock the hdd again, put your chipped box's hdd back in and change the eeprom to that of the softmodded box's, put the softmod hdd back in and lock it again. Then put your chipped hdd back in and change the eeprom back to the chipped eeprom. _________________ http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-211.html

Just an update, things are going a little better, I put the soft modded hard drive in the chipped box and pulled the C drive and EE prom info and bin file and FTP'd it to my laptop. However, I am now 400 miles away from the X Box until Sunday! But things are looking better! More later....

Thanks Hellblazer ,
I think when I get back home again I'll have no problem finishing up,
Sunday!! I even put that drive in my Mandriva linux box I could root/Bash to it but still could not pull the data, was ready to give up. Then decided
to try it on my chipped box & VOILA pulled my backup, ready to go.
While I have this thing out I'm thinking of building a 120 gig HDD for it.
Since I've already taken it apart ((EXCUSE))!!

It did just as you said & will boot only in the chipped box, you say to Unlock (already done) plug in chipped drive (already done), change to softmodded eeprom ?? Am I supposed to use like config magic or what, & if so won't my chipped box be confused when I try to boot to the Softmodded Eeprom?

Well I Built a 120 gig HDD, got the EEPROM.bin on , boots in the softmodded box, but now the modded box has error 06, I know if I put the original modded EEPROM on the modded HDD everything will be fine, however my question is how to get the modded xbox to boot so I can change the EEPROM!
