Ok. I am planning on using my controller extension cable, a female usb port and a flash drive(for memory) Ok here--> the controller extension cable i am going to cut the end that connects to the controller and solder on the usb female port to it. Do you think my xbox would recognise my flash drive as memory? If not, how can I do it?
yes. I read that already. I was going to use the usbview and AR the same way. But just wanted to know if my xbox would read the flash drive? In the tut it said that connect the flash drive to the USB Adobtor but it dosn't say how to create one so i thought that that could work will it?

I'm going to try both of them. I was looking for a way to use my flash drive as a memory card being that i can't seem to get a mem card. (Non-US resident, and I don't have a credit card) lol. Looking for a cheap way out.
If you look at it thought mine will also be able to use a mouse and a keyboard. You'll have the female USB port to accept Flash Drives, mouse, keyboards. Not at the same time though, but that can be worked on. Hey thanks for your time. Now i can soft mod my xbox If i have any problems I'll be posting it.

Just keep in mind that M$dash will format your flash drive and wipe out anything on it.
BTW: Not all Flashdrives work. I have more than one Sandisk(different models) and only one (Cruizer Mini 256) works this way. The other one (512 MB Micro) gives an error when transfering files and the light goes off. I think it's pulling too much power. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

If you think about it, it was only designed to take a 8MB memory card. _________________

The controller ports, where the adapter is pulgged in, are designed to take a controller(which has two electric motors and a 2 port usb hub inside it), the 2 memory card slots were designed to take 8 MB USB flash drives. All of these ports have proprietary connectors, but are standard V1.1 USB. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
