I just softmodded my nephews box, his stock hd worked fine with SID 4.5. Copied C, E and eeprom over to HDMAKER 1.9. Made a WD 250 the new box hd. Locked with HDM, stuck in the xbox, booted it up and it reboots and reboots and reboots after the flubber screen... Not sure whats up with it. Tried using a different hd as the base material, has worked before, but it gave me error code 06.

No idea whats up with this box. Anyone got any ideas why it would just constantly reboot? I checked the cables and they are fine. The old drive boots right up...

Thanks

Ok, I managed to get it to load Splinter Cell after a few reboots. I was able to reinstall the softmod with SID 4.5. I have it working just fine except for one stupid thing. I cannot boot the MS Dashboard from XBMC or EVOX. I installed it off the AID 3 disk in addition to SID putting it back.

I cant find it to load it on XBMC and EVOX takes me back to XBMC as it is my default dash.

Any ideas?

Your error code 06 on the new built hdd could be your using the wrong eeprom file, please make sure you use the eeprom.bin found in;

E:\UDATA\21585554\000000000000\backup\eeprom.bin

And use it to build and lock your new built hdd using xboxhdm_1.9.

As for your dash issues, make sure you have all files that those dashes need, and that they at least boot manually.

Thanks for the eeprom advice, I'm sure thats what it was.

Got it working with XBMC and EVOX. Just cant boot MS Dashboard from either one. EVOX takes me back to XBMC, XBMC doesnt have it listed...

It seems that the XBOX dash itself wasnt properly reinstalled with the softmod. Maybe my files got corrupted after the transfer. I say this because I realize that the box was unplugged for more than four hours and instead of taking me to the clock - it reboots to infinity.

I popped the old hd in, powered up, set the clock, shut her down, put the new hd in and it still reboots, but it at least loads Splinter Cell, so I reinstalled the softmod.

I am doing this on both my nephews boxes and one allows me into msdash after the reinstall, but the other does not.

All of this is very weird.
