i think what gus is trying to say is that you're probably banned now because ms had your original hd serial logged, but now since u upgraded the hd and signed on to live with it, they know you changed your hd and have since locked you out of live. i'm not completely sure but that's what the situation looks like from what i've read. usually with softmods, you won't get banned IF you make a new live account on the new hd before you do the softmod.

I'm not banned. I can still get on with my other softmodded xbox. Its just the xbox with the 300 gigs that I can't get on with. I tried put the old stock hard drive back and and that still did not work. I'm just confused that I could get on to get the updates but I can't get on again.??? Its no biggy I would just like to know the prob. just to know whats wrong. Its bugin' me.

ok 1st today softmods make it un necery to use coldboot process to play xbl.... thats 1 .... 2nd do u have sid 3 ? if u have sid3 then its blocking xbl either ways.....

First, maybe I have an old softmod....I don't know. What I do know is that if I want to play live, on ether one of my systems, I need to coldboot. And the mod I use needs the newest updated dashboard and I needed to get it by going on live (well thats the fastest way). I got a preformatted hard drive that did not have the update so I had to get. I installed the Hard Drive, got on live and got the update. I then installed my softmod. This i like the 10 xbox i've modded and I mod them all the same way and they all get on live the same way. well when I try to get on now I can't. If it was the 300 Gb drive then why would it let me on in the first place to get the update and It can't be the mod because I have two systems that get on the same way. and I didn't get banned because I can still get on live with my other systems. So where does the prob. lie.
And no I don't do SID.

then i might suggest move on? get xed or aid 3 and uninstall all softmods then it should upadate you with latest ms dash 5960 and then install sid 4.0 or 4.5 with the option called dual boot = retail ... then u'll be ready for xbl .....
coldbooting was a very suscefull trick to foul xbl but its less safer then doing sid4.0 4.5 with a retail dash.. u get my point? _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
