Oh man guys, I am so very happy that ya'll told me about that little white button. I customized my kai completely! Oh hell this rocks! I can even voice on this thing now... WOOT!

For those that arent sure.
I went to games, went to a game icon, clicked the white button, selected settings, dropped down to Xlink Kai and selected it.
Enabled Xlink Kai and enabled notifications. Installed my tag and password then pointed the Engine IP address to my computers IP address.

Had Kai run the engine only and allowed the dashboard to do the rest.

Oh hell this rocks. I even have my little shark icon. I'm excited.

OKitay... I did that... But, i go to system link (let's say it's Far Cry) and I'm at the game's system link menu... nothin's there. "No Games Found". WTF? It recognizes the engine in XBMC, lists the rooms, I select the game, launch it, and nothin.

Also for those running linksys routers, check your model numbers for either wrt54g or wrt54gs. These can load custom linux firmware, and xlink had created one with xlink kai engine built into it. This means you never have to run the program on your pc, or even have the pc on. Just upload it, restart your router, and put in your username/pass. Then everytime you load up xbmc it connects to kai for you.

I thought you guys might be interested, here's one site but the firmware here is kind of out of date.

http://www.kaistation.com/index.php

I'm currently running a different firmware but I can't remember which package. I'm away from home so I can't really tell you. Nvm, I just found it.

http://dd-wrt.gruftie.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/index.php?path=dd-wrt.v23%2Fstandard%2F&download=dd-wrt.v23_wrt54gs.bin

Btw this DD-WRT lets you crank up your power from the default 24mW to 151mW, a whole lot better range as you could imagine.

NOTE: Changing the Power Output could damage the router and is against the FCC Regulations, Please do not do this.

YESSIR... I'll be flashing later... I'm getting into... my....space. Found some old friends from very long ago. I'm actually impressed. Anywho, I'll try out the firmware tonight and see how it goes.

I used to use a hacked firmware for my Linksys, but it was pretty much a different GUI and an amped up frequency... Not worried about being the hotspot for my town, lol. I'm just down for the Kai support. I'll post back, letcha know how it works.

Ok, I have the hacked firmware running... turns out it's the same firmware I was running before Very Happy. Anywho, I setup up Kai with my MAC (through my xbox !!!! LinksBox... oh yeah) and anyway, XBMC recognises the connection, lists games and such. But when I select "arena" all it does is list users... no actual arenas to enter... I say screw it, select a user (from the longass list) and choose play... It loads the game, I go to system link, but there's nothing listed there. No games found... What am I doing wrong?

First before playing with the Xbox only version of Kai, did you get it to work with the engine on the PC? On the PC, you should be running the KAI Engine only to allow the dash to take control.
Once that's working, then go on to Linksbox.
Personally, you're waisting your time. Once successful all you'd be is a red splash puddle in Halo anyways from my shotgun, so go play Black or perhaps a nice smurf game running from Gargamel.
