Hi Guys. I was in the process of using the SID 4.5 and AID 3.0 to mod my xbox (that had latest dash), and I ran into some problems. Everything seemed to go smoothly until I rebooted, and I got the 'UNLEASHX' title screen -- it never went away.

I'm not really sure what I ended up doing next, but in the process of trying different menu options, and putting in games just to see if they'd still load, I'm at the following point.

My xbox boots into the Microsoft Default Dashboard, but I can still use the Splitercell Exploit to get into the SID4 menu. I cannot uninstall because somehow my E:/Backup/MS/ folder is gone now. I'm sure I did that, but no idea when or how - f#&@ up on my part. Games seem to load fine.

I don't really care about ever going 'back' to factory default. I don't do live, and was trying to just do the single boot option. If I could get some help just to get a non-MS dash to boot (XBMC would be sweet ass) and maybe the AID disc to run again, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks a ton.

n00b jackass,
Rob

well first of all but please try not to use coarse language as this is a site for all ages, so many youths come in here and don't wish to hear this language. Sorry if I was rude.

But onto your problem. Well if you can still boot the sid exploit, then you can just reinstall your softmod and not worry about you ms dash. Once you install softmod you can make a backup, then install evox dash board. Once you restart your box, and hpefully evox shows up, then you can use AID again and then you can install xbmc as an app. and install xselect so you can boot multiple dashes ans then make XBMC your default dash. That should work.

Sorry about the language, just a little frustration showing. Do my best to keep it as clean as I can from here on out.

I've been trying to reinstall the softmod, but the SID 4.5 installer I'm using won't let me do much of anything. As I managed to remove the 'E:\backup\ms' folder, there is no longer a clean backup. When I try to reinstall the softmod, I am told that there is not a backup folder (true) and that a softmod is already present (not sure about this one) -- so it won't let me just install again.

So, is there is something I can do to completely remove the mod, and start over? Can I rebuild the MS Backup directory manually from a downloaded set of files? Or is there a way of just configuring something so that I can run a modded dash and run the AID 3.0 disc?

Thanks,
Rob

well if someone would let you, you could see if they would let you use their C drive to backup your drive and then start it over. Or a simpler way to do it is to *sigh* get a chip. There are many ones out there cheap and easy to install and compatible with all versions of your xbox. If your able to still ftp I would just try to use someone's c backup.

ps. I thank you for trying to keep it clean. I might have been a little harsh earlier.

Don't give up so easy. There is a file around called ms-c.zip that is probably just what you're looking for. If my memory servers me correctly it buried inside the AID iso and what's used to return the C drive to a virgin 5960 msdash system after formatting C drive.

Definitely no need to chip. There are many more options. My favorite is Pirrups hotswap xbox to xbox.

did you backup your eeprom? if so you can put that onto the xboxhdm cd in the eeprom folder, along with the ms dash in the C folder of the disk, and completely rebuild your hard drive with your pc. no swapping needed. i had to do that, and i downloaded a rar file with the stock C drive so i didnt need my own c backup to do it.
