Ok got a v1.0 box. Planning on puttin in a Xecuter 2.6 CE. I have a 30 gb hardrive here at my house just have to see if it works. Dont know if its fried or not. One of the plusses of being a computer builder i guess. Now about the modchip I've been soldering for about 11 years so I'm gonna go solderless. Is there anything I should know about that could be a potential problem? Also I know I need to grab the AID 3.0 and that should have all the software I need. Is there anyway to test a HD out of the xbox to see if its lockable?

Ah, the V1.0. Be sure to clean the pinheaders with rubbing alcohol using a cotton swab. Sometimes they are covered in resin, you may need to scrape just a touch, very carefully.
Solderless is super simple. No worries there. Be sure on your d0 and you're fine.
As far as the HDD, you might check the HDD database and see if it's listed. If so, it will tell you if it's lockable or not. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

yeah i checked the HD database first unfortunatley it wasnt but Newegg has a 80gb for 50 i can pick up if needed. Still need an answer about the external HD locking? If possible is there a tut out there on that?
