i need help plz.i tried everything and no help.i have an unmodded xbox and got this error 21 thing. i was wondering if these dashborad installers like Auto-Installer Deluxe v1.01 will work for an unmodded xbox and if not is there any way i can fix my xbox without going and buying a new mobo or harddrive.Plz help would be greatly appreciated.i heard that the Van helsing DVD will fixx it b/c it has an xbox demo on it and i played the demo before i had this problem and will try 2moro but if u guyz find any other info plz let me no.
Also if some one has the same error 21 problem and wants to try the vanhelsing thing but doesnt hav the dvd u can try THE HULK or THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK thoses are the only ones that i hav played that i no of.But there probably is more most likely the older one since i seen the new movies dont hav them no more like spiderman and fantastic 4.

ive seen this said a few times by gus and others... if you have an unmodded xbox throwing up an error, and with no exploit saves on it... YOU CANT FIX IT BY TRYING TO SOFTMOD.
you have to be able to get to the MS dash to transfer the game saves, and if you were able to get to ms dash, well, you wouldnt have those problems would you?
as for the subject at hand, really, just 'duox2 (insert xbox version here) install guide' on images.google.com and you should see what you are needing..

Exactly, couldnt have said it better myself.. lol
E21 is a dashboard error.. Its missing critical files from the C:\ drive..
Thats whats wrong..
If you have a error code on a UNMODDED XBOX then you will need to modchip it.. There is just no other option.. You need to gain access to the M$ Dashbord to copy the softmod files over so softmodding is a NO GO for sure with that error..
Another thing maybe (now this is out there).
Get a new xbox live game and boot it and update the LIVE DASHBOARD.. Hopefully it replaces the files.
Mod it baby.. I would.
Otherwise return to M$ Support and pay the big dollars..
Thats why we call them M$.. (microsoft).

okay i installed the modchip(duox2) but wen i turn it on it boots 3 timesandflashes red and green.if i dont enableit it boots 1timeandflashes redand green due to the error 21 im trying tofix.igot it to go to the blue screen to flash the biosbut nowit doesnt go there anymore.plz help

Tries To Boot Three Times and then starts flashing red and green. Also Known as "Christmas Lights" In my experience this is due to a failed mod chip and broken traces. I have also seen it on two stock Xboxes doing the same thing on the stock boxes it is worth installing a modchip to see if it can boot with a mod bios.

settle down, alot of users are local of US and were watching the game...
anyway, your chip does work if you get the flash bios screen
what you need to do is flash the bios. just go to teamxecuter.com and click the flashbios link on the side. they are the team that wrote flash bios so they would have the best tutorial for you. as for bios, use evox M8+ (and if your xbox is 1.6, get v16)
and to answer your question gus, yes, a hotswap would fix, but he has a chip and it would have been a dumb move to get the chip THEN try to hotswap. _________________ XCM Halo 2 blue case

lol dont worry my anger wasnt pointed to any of u guys i jus needed to let it out lol.N e ways maybe i worded it wrong but i got it to go to the flash bios screen BUT NOW it wont.it reboots threee times and den flashes red n green.sometimes it works but it doesnt display anything on the screen.I have read an article on www.llamma.com and i think that i didnt solder the ship on the chip properly.the solder i have doesnt hav a realy pointed end so its hard to solder.i think thats the problem since i got it to work once.
PS:i had to fiddle it around for it t ohave worked tthat time........another hint.
