i followed the instructions from the xboxhdm tutorial to make a upgrade my new hdd and it says primary master drive is frozen.whats wrong?

did you check a hard drive compatibility chart to make sure your hdd is lockable...later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

Ok tell me exactly what u did ??? i did this before and i know well on upgrading hdds..
did u get your C E eeprom ? r u using xboxhdm1.9
and did u make change the boot secuanse that way the dvd rom reads first then hd????
jumper cables?? slave is for dvd rom
primary for hd...

im using xbox 1.9 i copied my c,e and eeprom file.i followed the tutorial and everything went well.until it was time to lock it.it said primary drive was frozen(error 5).so got around that and got it to lock.so when i put it into my sofmodded xbox(007 method)it said error 6 now.what to do?

wrong eeprom!!
pop the hd again as if u were trying lock it but insted of locking it unlock it by doing this
unlockhd -a
or somtin read on that tut..
once its unlocked then go to the softmod and re do the eeprom backup and try re lock it by re burin another disc..
here is the tut i did and it work fine.. but u got incorrect eeprom..

When preparing a new hdd with xboxhdm, the jumper needs to be set to master. Once the hdd is ready and locked, move the jumper to cs (cable select) and place it in the xbox.
Question: What eeprom did you lock the hdd with? How did you "get around" the error 5? _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

i locked it with the eeprom from my xbox that ftp over to my cpu.i got around the error 5 cuz my cpu wouldnt lock the hd cuz it was froze from my cpu security.so when i started my cpu i unhooked the ide cable until the program started.then i was able to lock it from my cpu with my eeprom

it could be as simple as the jumper be in the wrong place
if it isnt on the wrong place then put obisly put the wrong eeprom
