Hi there, I'm a bit new to Xbox Modding, but I've researched and looked at all the forums to get help from past questions and I didn't get the answer i was looking for, so I'm hoping someone skilled will help me get the final step done in getting my Xbox modded.
Currently, I have Xbox v1.0 Softmodded with EvolutionX Dashboard. I'm using Xboxhdm to create a new hard drive(using Western Digital 80GB DDD). I created the hard drive with success, however I cannot lock my HDD because my PC BIOS is freezing the drive. MAIN QUESTION, How do i get my PC's BIOS to unfreeze the drive so i can finally lock the drive and put it in my xbox? Thank you.

Scratch that from above, i have fixed this problem, but there's another problem, I put the locked drive in my xbox and it came up as error 06, which is cannot unlock Hard drive. What do i do?

Hey, i see you got your HDD working, i'm glad for you! Could you help me out with it? I have an 80 gig HD and xboxhdm v1.9 like you did. Except when i typed hdlock -a (or whatever it is) it says my PC BIOS is freezing the drive and it can't lock it. How can i fix this so i can lock my drive?
and know u saying ur pc isnt frezing anymore but u are gettin an error code 6.... have u typed lockhd -a ??????? what info did it give u after u typed lockhd -a and the error code 6 means that u put wrong eeprom... as the xbox cannot comunicate with the hdd serial number.. in other words u gonna start over process and re make the eeprom and re burn the disc...
but ur on the right track dont give up !!!!.... a suggestion if possible i would stick with maxtor hdd. as i dont know wd very good.. based on the locking unlocking.. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Awesome man, thanks so much. I'll get on it as soon as i can. School's got finals and all so yeah. I heard Western Digital Drives were good too. i have an 80 gig so hopefully i can get it. By the way, i'm asking this for emergency purposes only, what if you mistyped the password and can't unlock the hard drive? Just wondering, anyway to get it unlocked?

well realy their is no way to make mistakes its eitehr ...
lockhd -a
or
unlockhd -a
but before u lock it make sure that was the correct eeprom from the xbox to the new hd.
quick review
copy ur C drive if u want retail then look under pirrups signiture
copy ur E drive if u want game saves apps or emus that u curently have basicly ur personal stuff... u dont need E drive if u going stock retail
and MOST IMPORTANTLY ur EEPROM
that is step 1 as i see it
now u have the disc inside (xboxhdm) turn off pc unplug everyin except dvd/cd rom plug new hdd u want 2 make
type xboxhdm then press enter
press 1 enter
pretty much from here it's yes yes etc... ( use common sense) it will ask u for F drive ... if ur hdd is is bigger then stock ( 10) then press yes...
once u finish reboot it ... then type 3 boot to locking/unlockin utulites or somtin like that.. then if u wanna lock it type
lockhd -a lockhd space minus - a ....
