you could put another heatsink on there and remove the fan. make sure you use some good thermal compound, and you shouldn't have any problems. _________________

is it jus stuck on with thermal compound?

Yep, just the clip and thermal paste. It will take some force, but don't worry, because the gpu chip itself is solidly attached, I tried to pry it off with a small screwdrive, and it would move. Just make sure you don't flex the motherboard too much when applying force. _________________
