Hello everyone,
I have an xbox with a Xecuter 2.3 lite chip, EvoX M8 bios, and UnleashX as the dash.
How do I configure In Game Reset (IGR) to work? I know that you can do it in the Evox dash, but I though that there was a way with the mod chip.

You should have a bios igr and a dash igr. L trigger R trigger black and back might be the bios igr. L trigger R trigger back and start is probably the dash. Yours could be different though, that's how mine is set up. Try installing xecuter 2 config tool, and use that. Otherwise, make sure there isn't a file in the root of E:\ called 'x2_IGR disabled'
Don't know much about X2, thats just what a mate suggested _________________

I don't have the ''x2_IGR disabled' file in my C, E or F roots. The L, R, Back and Black works fine within some apps (dvd2xbox and linksboks) but does not work in games. Also in the config.xml for unleashx I didn't see any reference (also I thought that unleashx couldn't do IGR?).
So do I need to change my bios to one my teamxecuter (if so which bios?) or does the xecuter 2 config tool do that (and where do I get it from?).

ok, sorry for the missunderstanding of the post about X2ool.
He did say he's got EvoxM8 bios.
so do this.
Download a tool called Evtool, and open up your bios file on computer. called M8bios.bin, and in the menu, you should be able to choose quick or compatible IGR, and save your bios to the right size of your modchip bank, and reflash bios to chip.
That's it, and the combo is: Both Triggers+black+back or start.
Kinda Think of it, EvoxM8 has IGR by default, and you shouldn't need to add it, and also make sure you set your partition settings, so if you have bigger hdd, se it to recognize it.

Try to launch your game from EvoX with IGR enabled from EvoX's settings and see if you can reset that way. I haven't flashed my bios before, so, I'll have do do a little bit of research. While I'm at it though, can someone give me quick run down of EvoxM8 bios vs, Xecuter bios, please... so I can "experiment" to see what I like best?

using EvoX dash, I can do IGR, but this system is for my 4 year old son, and I want to setup passwords on most menu choices; and I know he'll like the little pictures of the games when he goes to choose a game (within unleashx, not available in evox). Can one set up passwords in evox dash?

you cannot se passwords with evox.
I suggest you get EvoxM8+ bios, but make sure if your xbox is a 1.6, you flash correct bios to chip.
here's a chart to compare bios, it's kinda weird to look at, but it's the best i can do to give you a complete comparison.

You could also get the latest version of X2 bios and flash that to your chip (default is to have IGR on and is L+R trigger + Start + Back). Then you could also use X2ool to change the flubber screen and the IGR settings (and quite a few others).
One warning about UnleashX to set passwords (I'm doing the same thing for my 3 year old son's game playing, have a menu for "kids games" and that has an associated directory, and all other games and options are password protected...god he loves Lego Star Wars), is if they push 'X' to get the last 10 quick launch menu, you can run anything anyone has launched recently without going through the password. You wouldn't think a 3 or 4 year old would figure this out, but they are smart little whips.
If anyone knows how to force this "last launch" to clear after each reboot in UnleashX, please let me know.

The quick launch menu will give me problems unless it can be cleared ... my son will figure that out in no time flat.
Is there a way to figure out how much memory my chip has? the reason I ask is that I thought I had 512KB (I have 2 banks), but I think I have a total of 256KB ... is that possible with a 2.3 Xecuter lite chip? (Once I flash the bios either with M8plus or X2 4983 (each 256KB), and switched to the other bank I would still get the same bios load).
Also, in either tool (EVtool_1.0.9 or X2ool_1.0.3) where exactaly do you go to change the IGR key settings? I found that both use L, R Start, Back, whereas I would like L, R Back, Black (S controller). In Evtool, I found that setting the"IGR method" from "more compatible" to "quick" accomplishes this, but is there a different way to set whatever keys you want...?
Finally, I would like to use the latest and greatest bios X2.5035, will that work with my mod chip? If I just try to flash my chip with this bios, could it destroy my xbox?
BTW, I used the Evox dash flash tool to flash my bios and it couldn't be easier.
