If someone could please help me I would greatly appreciate it. I softmodded my Xbox using SID with no problems. I then used AID to update the MS dashboard to 5960. On reboot with the tray open AND with the tray closed I get the "error 21" screen. I have also tried booting from the SID and AID CD/DVDs and still get the "error 21". Is a hotswap my only option to get my Xbox out of "brick" mode?
Related question, If I use xboxhdm to recover my C:/ drive will I loose my saved games? Are saved games on E:/?
Thanks in advance.

first try to load the exploit game (original ) , if it loads just redo the softmod .
if you can't load originals and you don't have an eeprom backup -> you will need to do a hotswap .
you won't lose your savegames if you rebuid the C only _________________
As for your hotswap tutorial. I was reading it last night and I was confused by one thing, at what point do I connect the Xbox HD to the PC IDE cable? I have read other hotswap tutorials that explain this, perhaps it would be clearer if it was mentioned explicitly. Just my $0.02. Thanks for the contribution and help!

hehe tnx for letting me know.
I updated it last week and i forgot to put it back in , it's included now
Schweet thanks! Three more questions, does disconnecting the Xbox DVD drive and thus causing it to throw the "nr 11" error alleviate the need to be quick in the swap from Xbox to PC or is there still critical timing involved? Do you recommend connecting the two machine chassies together with a ground wire as some HS tuts suggest? And lastly (hopefully), statistically speaking, what are the chances of screwing up a HD by doing a HS? Thanks again!
