ok so i chipped this box with a duox2 its a 1.6 version. after i installed the chip i turned it on and it opened to the flash bios v3.03 by teamxecuter. So i followed the instructions on flashing via http and i got to the part where you actually flash the chip i flashed it with the evolutionx m8+ bios. my console turned itself off and when i turned it back on i have no video and the led indicator is blinking red/green when i looked it up it said this..

1.Green/Red Flashing:
Problem: The Xbox will restart twice, and then flash red and green. This is known as the FRAG and can be caused by many reasons. Typically when you receive this error you will not have any video. Possible reasons you may get this is a bad bios image, a bad bios chip, the Nvidia MCPX chip is damaged, broken/damaged traces or solder splashes on the mother board.

Fix: If you were doing any kind of soldering work (adding a Modchip or other type of mod) on or around your motherboard, make sure there are no solder splashes or that there are not solder bridges connecting any traces. If there are, desolder them. If you have not done any kind of modding to the unit, then its likely to be caused from a bad tsop image, or a bad chip. Try installing a Modchip to see if you can get the unit to boot. If the Xbox still gives a FRAG then it means another major component is bad and the motherboard needs to be replaced

... ok so my xbox didnt restart twice...i actually restarted the box myself after it turned off by itself after my flashing attempt...so my question is this..im guessing its a bad tsop flash....so how do i go about repairing it? when i open the tray and boot up the xbox i get into the regular bios...it's only when i boot to the modchip...do i need to install another modchip? or is there a way to reflash that im not aware of?

hi oldballs,

So your certain you flashed it with the correct bios?? The M8 bios for the V1.6 xbox?? Does your modchip have a switch so you can turn on and off.. Im pretty sure it will so try booting your xbox without the modchip on.

If you still get a error there is a problem with your installation i would say.
Check over everything..

If it does work with the modchip off and boots like normal again i would say you may need to relfash the chip again.. The bios you used could have become courrupted somehow or anything really.

let us know how you go.

hey thanks for the tip.
Yeah, it turned out to be a bad flash coupled with a bad chip...it wouldnt take a reflash (and it wasnt a clone chip....it was authentic..just bad) i rechiped it and everything loaded fine.

p.s. Thanks for writing those tutorials forahobby, they were the clearest and helpful ones i found...and it's helped me mod 2 boxs succesfully so far. (about to do a third)
