My remote stopped working for my xbox, the other day. The only thing I can remember changing was putting on the snes emulator (got it from AID 2.0). I took taht off and it still doesn't work. I tried putting the remote device into the other ports on the xbox and changing the batteries nothing helps. The remote did work prior to this for months and even a few minutes before the snes emulator was installed.
xbox is softmodded, SID/AID, 250 gig Maxtor, XBMC as the dashboard

Oh the other thing I tried is I cleared out the cache folder on the E: partition and I cleared out (not at home right now) but one of the face008 folders, can't remember what parition it's on. None of that helped either.

I believe the reomte will only work with the M$ dash. If you use any other dash it will not work. _________________

the remote is supported by most replacements dashes, and yes XBMC accepts it.
this sounds like nothing to do with your xbox, mb it's the remote itself.
you haven't dropped it, or stepped on it, or something???

I've tried changing the batteries, it wasn't dropped/nothing spilled on it. The only change on the xbox was that the snes emulator was put on... after that it stopped working.

well, it beats me, i don't think that installing an emulator to your hdd has anything to do with your remote working or not working, since those are just files, and nothing else.
*get's an idea*
do you have MS Dash installed?
if you do, please try to play a DVD movie, if the remote works, then i don't know, but if it doesn't work, then it means the remote did get some damage somehow.
