i have been playing with programms and messed up my box.
it`s version 1.0 pal.
i soft modded it copyed my folder called ms backup off my c on the xbox to my pc via ftp.
i then started palying around.and
this is were it all gose pair.
playing with confgmagic on my xbox .
i see unlock hdd.. i`v seen that in all the pages i`v been readin ....
so i try unlock hdd ... why. i do not konw but i think it killed the cat..
config magic says drive unlocked.so i exit configmagic to dash.
and it there.i play a homebrow game ..
restart my box...
error 05 leds light up like when theres no hdd attached to the xbox..
you need to call service etc..
can i relock my hdd.
the ms back up dose not have eprom stuff in it just dash saves.
it is the hdd that came with the xbox.
any idears how 2 restor it

the only way to lock it is to have a modchip, i did the same thing thinking that upgrading the hdd was used the same steps as the modchip. Just get a good chip and lock it back. _________________ Xbox v1.0

thanks thats the only opp i`v found as well just wondering if any one knows more. so mod chip it is then. lol i was tryeing to only spend £40 on a hdd but now more cash for chip. lol
i may look for chep box with broken dvd. and get a chip later as i have no eletronic cash. so it will take some time for me to sort a chip being delivered.
down the secon hand shop then.

do you have a backyp eeprom and hddkeys from your retail XBOX HDD??
Or did you unlock before you got those to your pc??
If you arent worried about xbox live you can do whats called a HOTSWAP.. It uses your pc to format or LOCK the hdd again..
btw.. Im no softmod expert so just ask pirrup and the other boys what they would suggest too.. Im sure you should be able to get it working.. Well hopefully. _________________ HQ Network:
