ok i was wondering is there any way to get cdr's to work on an xbox v1.0 without it being modded.

swap your dvd drive for a samsung or hitachi.

your box doesnt have to be modded either way to play cdr's it just all comes down to the media you are using and the dvd drive...many dvd drives do not accept cdr's...good luck. _________________ Xbox V1.6

Yeah, that's what I've heard to is to use a Samsung drive. My Phillips drive won't read cd-r's at all.

you can tweak your thompson drive, but that requires soldering, electronics skills, you can make it read all media types, by adding ohms to in resistors to the laser.
Hitachi doesn't read CD-Rs, at least mine doesn't.
