I just soft Moded my XBOX but the original hard drive went bad. Iv'e got another 60 gig Western Digital drive that's lockable. Iv'e already copied the C: & E: drive over to the 60 gig drive with the backup eprom form another XBOX. My question is how can I get my xbox boot to the new 60 gig. hard drive with all of the information on the new drive copied over from another XBOX. Can you use another hard drive from another XBOX and make it work in another XBOX????? Please help---(will trade for info)

hi mate,

Basically you want to look into whats called a HOTSWAP.. There are plenty of topics in our forums here if you search or you can use the tutorials section too.

I will link you now to the tutorial which may help you recover..
It doesnt even matter anymore whether you keep a eeprom backup unless you want to get back onto XBOX LIVE just like your original HDD.

heres some links:

HOTSWAP:recover a hd without eeprom backup:

Or if you have a backup of your eeprom info etc etc you could also follow a normal softmod upgrade hdd tutorial.

Heres some more links:

Install Larger Hard-Drive into SoftModded Xbox:

upgrading a softmodded xbox with a bigger hd:

upgrade hd with a pc (softmods):

Im sure all those tutorials will keep you out of trouble.. Anyway. Enjoy the site and the guys hanging about.. We are all friendly and here to help
